San Felipe Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Sanford

My family and I went out to eat here after church. There were 8 of us, 3 adults and 5 children. The server took 10-15 just to get our drinks, and they were NOT busy. Once she put in our order, all of our food came out except one child's meal and another child's meal was wrong. It took the entire time that the rest of us were eating for the children's food to come back out. No one apologized for the inconvenience, the server was nonchalant and uncaring about HER mistake, forgetting to put in one meal and putting another dish in, incorrectly, even after reading it back..... TO TOP IT ALL OFF, they added on the gratuity automatically. This is unacceptable. We have no problem paying for our meals and tipping appropriately, however, after the experience was less than sub-par, we should have been afforded the opportunity to choose how much tip she deserved. I was previously very pleased with San Felipe's food quality and serving sizes for very affordable prices, however, I would rather go to another restaurant that costs more but TREATS ME BETTER. Food & service consistently positive. They need to clean a little better as far as the front windows & monitor the restroom cleanliness. The location on Horner seems to have better food, but it's supposed to be the same. Both are good, would return. It's not very well lit. If you like it extra dim you'll enjoy it more. UPDATE VISIT Thurs. Aug. 24th 7pm Wait was ridiculous! It was unreasonably hot. I ended up leaving after 35 minutes without a table, not enough waiting space to accomodate all 4 of us & 1 child, just one chair. The little seat upfront was occupied. 2 out of our group left, the others wish they would have left as well. If you wait that long atleast the food should should taste good. How difficult can it be to operate a microwave, where most of the food spends atleast a few minutes. The plates are hot... straight outta the microwave. Stopped here on a whim as we were passing through Sanford and saw it. 4:30pm on a sunday and was nearly empty with 1 other couple, but was filling up when we left about 5:45.Six of us had 5 different dishes. Each dish was excellent, large vegetarian burrito dish, taco salad one w/chicken and one w/beef, chicken ACP dish and camarones chipotle. Each dish was a large, generous portion of steaming hot fresh made food. Food was delicious and well prepared and seasoned for the average person. Other patrons food looked as good too. Wait staff were courteous and attentive so we never had to wait for anything we asked for. Right on time every time with drink refills. Based on this 1 trip here I would highly recommend. Based on this 1 trip I highly recommend!! Whole restaurant as very clean, restrooms, dining area and yes I steeped into kitchen to check cleanliness and was impressed at how clean it was cealing to floor. I will walk out of unclean places even leaving others behind. It's gotta be clean for me...
