In general the food was good, pretty much everything we got was cooked & flavored well with 1 MAJOR exception. The brisket was a huge disappointment, especially considering so many menu items incorporate it. There was virtually no bark, very little smoke flavor, almost no seasoning, dry, and not tender (was more like thick cut roast beef). I know they have a brand new smoker, so they may simply still be figuring it out and will update my review once I try them again at a later date. But if you are going here specifically for brisket....as of right now, I'd suggest getting something else until they figure it out (for example, the turkey was pretty decent). I have high hopes they will figure it out because everything else was solid. We also got chicken strips for my kid that were great, and chips / salsa / queso that were very good too. Food presentation, nice staff, cool venue were all positives.

Just cruising down Bolivar Street and decided to stop in and check it out. Friendly faces that we already knew from another local favorite of ours. Excited to get to have more variety in Sanger. I got the Steak Fingers and they were delicious! I also got the fried mushrooms and my GF got the Turkey Melt. We will be back!

Staff was friendly and welcoming. The coleslaw stood out—crisp, fresh, and refreshing. I haven’t had it like that in a while. A solid spot I’d come back to.

5 Stars for all but the atmosphere. We were in for lunch on a weekday and it was a little dead inside as far as the interior looks. Also need more decor to brighten it up. Food was top notch. Service excellent. Establishment was clean. Bar needs a little "atmosphere" work, but they have only been open a month or 2 so requires a bit of time. Menu was good and expansive. Not enough to overwhelm you, but enough to make sure every one in your party has options. Once they get a bar up and running and it isn't so cold of an atmosphere, I think people will come in. Not everyone wants to drive to Denton to grab a bite of good food. Lots of us want to see Sanger succeed with something other than a chain or Babe's. This is a great alternative and good food. Don't skip this one. You will...

I don't understand most of these reviews.. the food was mediocre, my burger tasted like it was frozen meat, there were hardly any toppings besides meat drenched in sauce my mashed potatoes were literally scooped from a bin and plopped on my plate..

They did such a piss poor job of covering the old restaurant up that you can't even really tell the name of the new place because everything says 1886 bar and grill (the old restaurant there)

The service was chaotic and there were only three tables... one girl working at 5pm on Saturday she was nice but visibly frustrated.

This place will inevitably close down with good restaurants like babes and Papa D's...
