First off, I don’t leave reviews but just had to for this place. Upon walk-in the environment felt… unsettling, to the point of almost walking out. No music, dead silent, and smelled of cigarettes. We sit down look over the very minimal menu, order waters and a coffee. There’s no other way to describe what the coffee tasted like other than cigarettes… I wish it was a joking. It was as if someone took ashes from an ashtray and sprinkled it like cinnamon powder. When I asked for creamer, the server dug it out of her apron and flopped it on the table, it didn’t help the coffee. I order the cowboy special, basically biscuits and gravy with chicken fried steak ($14). The biscuit and gravy were okay, but my chicken tasted like it was from the ocean. My buddy ordered pancakes and a side of eggs ($16). Seems strange that stack of pancakes and a side of eggs is more than a chicken fried steak. Leaving the short breakfast we observed that a side of eggs was almost $8, a dollar less than the side of pancakes, which is insane and the icing on the cake. We like to support local businesses, but restaurants sell an experience and this one in particular sold us the door out. I’m unsure how the reviews are 4.4 stars, we...
Read moreI had high hopes for this place because many friends have already gone and they highly recommended this place. Maybe I went on the wrong day or at a bad time but wow. Our server never once smiled and barely acknowledged our table. When we came in, there were only two other tables and the one server I saw when I walked in almost looked annoyed and bothered we came. She had no sense of urgency to greet us or any energy. Food was decent but a little pricey. Our table wasn't wiped down, still had crumbs when I sat down. For our party, it was just a let down. We'll continue to patron Green Valley Cafe. They have friendlier servers, better food, and a better atmosphere.
So, the food itself... My kid said the pancakes were great. There's a good point (one star). The fruit I had tasted fresh and was good (one star). That's basically where it ended for us. I got the vegetarian omelet without onions or peppers but something tasted off, like dirt. The hasbrowns were hard, like sticks. Was told the bacon was like biting on a rawhide. My friends French toast had a burnt taste to them. And her coffee she said was awful. Not sure how you can mess up coffee, but she didn't...
Read moreWhat a great surprise! We were traveling and decided to stop for lunch. We took a chance stopping at Cowboy’s in Sanger never having heard of them. It is a quaint little place with absolutely delicious food. My husband had the all meat omelette and he could only eat half of it because it was so large. I had a chicken quesadilla. Very tasty. The chicken breast was freshly cooked, not reheated. There was more chicken on this quesadilla than any other I have had. Very friendly staff....
