I am skeptical about Mexican restaurants because most places have the same menus or very similar menus, and the food is not that good or not good at all. Very often, customer service is very bad. Unhappy servers, perhaps working in the wrong place. Well, this restaurant was very good. The food was on point and delicious. I am a bit disappointed because the portion was kind of small. Very small slice of cesina and a very small slice of tasajo, perhaps a couple of ounces each. My plate came with rice and beans. I asked for no beans and all rice. Even when I ordered only rice, I barely got two small portions of rice. Not even a cup of rice. Rice is not expensive, so I don't know why they serve such a micro portion. I asked for a glass of water from the very beginning. The waitress brought some chips, but no water. I didn't get water until dinner was served. Cafe de la olla was very, very good. Great live music. I really felt like I was in an Oaxacan restaurant in Mexico. Overall, I like the restaurant, except for the small portion and the lack of customer service. Food, coffee, and good live music were the major highlights. I recommend this restaurant to people who want to enjoy a real taste of Oaxacan food.

Be prepared for the most flavorful and authentic Mexican food you have had in a long time. This is not California “Mexican Food”, this is Oaxacan Food and you are going to find yourself thinking about how good it is a lot! Warning: it is addictive. We always start with the Maracuya (passion fruit) juice. The mole on the appetizer chips is amazing: sweet and just the right amount of chocolate. To really get a sense of the flavors and tastes of Oaxaca, I would suggest one of the sampler platters. The La Tentacion is perfect for 2-3 people. A perfect sampler for one person is either the Tipica Oaxacaqueño or the Molcajete Oaxacaqueño. We have never tried a dish that we did not love. Enjoy!! ♥️

Amazing mole and exceptional service!! It's a very homey feel inside and the decor is lovely. Romel (and the lady whose name I can't remember 🥺) were so helpful in explaining the dishes special to Oaxaca since it was our first time. Definitely get the quesadillas doradas 🔥. The mole cololradito with chicken was so so good. You can taste the time it takes them to make mole. We also enjoyed the platanos flameados; very bright and warm. Maybe it would go great with a scoop of ixe cream but it was tart and sweet and spicy (think cinnamon). Highly recommend.

I've been coming her many many times and this has been my only Oaxaca favorite restaurant but I went in yesterday and I didn't like my service I've never had a good customer service that I've been happy about but yesterday has been one I've actually dislike my family and I arrive before some other lady and her friend and they were help out first not just that but we wouldn't get ask if we wanted anything like the waiter kept passing to fast and we love the chips that with the mole that is always given out first but they didn't take it we waited a while until I was able to get there attention and ask for it my sister had ask for the made horchata she loves it with fruit they ask her which one she wanted if the regular or the made one and they took her the regular one then she re orders a other one minutes later and they tell they didn't have any more that's why they didn't give it to her the first time I just felt like it was super mad to be seated it took them more time to help us out and to help someone else that arrived after us was just unfair This has only been the only restraunt that I like my tlayuda and if I get another bad service I'll just have to stop coming they really need to work on giving out a better service with there clients why hire ppl that can't have a good attitude when...

This is definitely a well kept secret where the locals KNOW! I 'll get the ugly outta the way, parking is NOT the Business here! But hey if you get lucky, there is a tasty reward! The Authentic taste of Oaxaca is just past the beaded threshold! Some places dabble with certain specialty dishes from Oaxaca, this place is 💯! All Oaxaca, all day! Yes!! I am excited to tell you about this place, sadly I only learned of it's existence 2 years ago..but I can assure you I'm trying to make up for it, lol. It's so hard to pick ONE dish to love on..because they are all Fantastic! If you love Mole (like I do), hands down the Best you will ever taste, outside of Oaxaca, no joke. A hidden favorite is the green Pozole, a hearty bowl of this...every spoonful feels like a great big hug from the homeland...our ancestors would be proud! Side dish of quesillo (Oaxaca string cheese) never disappoints.. The dishes are hearty, so come with an appetite! The absolute cherry 🍒 on top, if there's room (I always leave a little space.lol)..chocolatito con pan..oh weee! Hot Chocolate made with Chocolate from Oaxaca served with a warm Sweet bread to dunk in the...
