Charleys Cheesesteaks and Wings — Restaurant in Santa Ana

This was my first time trying Charleys Cheesesteaks. I’ve been meaning to get in to try it, so today was the perfect day since I was in the area shopping.

I ended up ordering a Chicken Philly without the peppers or mushrooms. I wasn’t aware that it came with tomatoes and mayo, I didn’t see it listed on the menu. I removed the tomatoes and kept the mayo and I’d say paired with the onions, lettuce and seasoned chicken, it’s a nice fulfilling bite. But come to think of it, it didn’t come with any provolone cheese so that’s disappointing. I also ordered Cajun fries, but I think they came a bit too seasoned. I had to add extra ketchup lol.

I also ordered a Cookies and Cream shake, but when I ordered it (Aracely) told me that I couldn’t add it to my combo meal. I had to buy it separately. Which is also odd, because the Charleys Cheesesteak App allows me to add a shake to a combo meal so I’m not sure why it doesn’t apply in-store.

The food is good, though the confusion threw me a little off, between the ingredients on my sandwich, to ordering a shake with my combo.

But, with Aracely’s kindness and sweet service, it makes it worth to consider visiting again. Thanks Aracely!

Not sure how to rate my experience. Food was pretty good but after hearing directly from employee that there is “black stuff in the water” and that’s why she “refuses” to give out water cups. I started second guessing things. If you buy lemonade, the employee goes to the same drink machine for the ice. No signs or anything saying don’t use the water dispenser. My Girlfriend topped off her lemonade with the water not knowing any of this. It wasn’t until we asked for a water cup that this all happened.

The entertainment is nice tho. Homeless people coming in barefoot after rummaging the trash can outside the window. And then being sold ice cream cones right at the counter. One of the homeless ladies bought 2 ice creams and was making some concoction outside the window with a big gulp cup she cut open.

Food- pretty good, suspicious of cleanliness Service- originally good but debatable.

Food was good and the place was clean! We ordered the Chicken philly sandwich combo it was okay. The chicken could use a bit more seasoning and maybe some mayo on it as well. The fries were very good and so was the Strawberry Lemonade. Tastes like real Lemonade and had strawberry bits in it! Not too sweet but not to plain, it was just right! 😌 the chicken philly is like ur typical steak philly but this one comes with lettuce,tomatoes, and a big pickle slice.
