What's the best way to alienate a regular customer? Serve an overdressed, caesar salad and then when that customer complains, dismiss their concerns by telling them "That's just the way we do it. If you don't like it, order it less dressed." Any hint of the "customer is King" philosophy is clearly absent at Bossies. Don't get me wrong. The food is great (for the most part) and the attention to local, farmer's market sourced produce is a clear plus, but perhaps the manager missed the memo about treating customers well and compensating them when there is an issue with their food. Isn't this food management 101? Now, having succeeded in pissing off a local and regular customer, Bossies gets this negative review, in addition to the one I left on YELP. If you couldn't for some reason, remove the cost of the salad from the bill, would it really have killed you to offer a free cookie or donut. I guess this is how things are done in 2023, which is a sad statement on our culture. In any case, there's a lot I like about this place, but I'll definitely think twice before...
Read moreGreat atmosphere, lovely interior decorating that is very open and relaxing, lots of fresh flowers and vibrant food colors. Display case is always impeccable in presentation and makes it very hard to choose what you want! Outdoor seating is also very nice for those days when you want to enjoy the fresh air, or for bigger parties. Definitely a great neighborhood cafe/restaurant to stop by for a coffee or teatime treat. Servers are also very thoughtful and nice.
Personally I've found their pastry/display case selection to be among my favorites vs the dinner options. The donuts are always fun and funky flavors that go very well together and look almost too beautiful to eat (but too tasty to resist!), and the cakes are also very delicious. When they use garnishes like berries, they're always fresh and delicious, farmer's market level quality. Coffee is good too. Prices for pastries and cakes are very reasonable but ordering meals is definitely way too pricey for...
Read moreVisiting the area stopped here for lunch to takeout. I ordered the Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich. Also selected a Berry Pistachio donut, A Chocolate Pistachio Sea Salt Cruller, and a Brown Butter-Miso Walnut Sesame cookie. The sandwich was fabulous. Great flavors would definitely get that again. The sweets though weren't my favorite. Especially at that price point I was expecting amazing. And the flavors just weren't there for me. I wish I could have tried the Passion Fruit Coconut donut but it was sold out already. And the Brown Butter Vanilla Cruller was all taken by a group of ladies in front of me and they were raving about those. Also, when I got home the Berry donut had no frosting on it because it was stuck to the inside of the bag they slide them into so that was also disappointing. But it's a cute restaurant. Love the atmosphere inside and out. And very...
