This is definitely a little locals spot hidden away in a residential neighborhood. If you don't pay attention you could drive right by it which we actually did while we were looking for it. We were in Santa Barbara for the day and the girlfriend wanted pizza and we love spots with that little cup pepperoni type. We were initially disappointed that when we tried to order a pizza we were warned that if we ordered a whole pizza it would be an hour wait because there were so many to-go orders ahead of us. We were offered some slices and that would only be about 15 minutes of waiting. We wanted an entire pizza but we figured we'll try this since we didn't want to wait. I think it ended up being a little more than 15 minutes but the wait was worth it. We really didn't think a slice of pizza would fill us up but these slices are different. I don't know how to describe them. The dough was thick and very crunchy. Not your typical pizza dough. The sauce was good and sweet but not overly sweet. Cup pepperoni is always awesome. There was some basil on top which was a nice touch. We ate outdoors in the patio area which is definitely not the most scenic place in town and did not seem to be too popular with anyone else. We did notice that this pizza joint was very popular with the locals though. A ton of people were coming and going picking up their pizzas to-go. This will definitely be on our list for places to hit up next time...
Read moreOne of the most overrated, overpriced pizzas in Santa Barbara. Upon arrival, we were informed that it would take 45 mins to get our pizzas ready -- mind you, this wasn't because the restaurant was busy, but because that's how long their pizzas take to make. During our wait, we had a bottle of wine and shared some snacks from El Zarape restaurant next door (which were really top notch, review for El Zarape coming soon). Once our long awaited pizzas came, they were pretty good; the toppings were high quality but the crust was very dry (maybe because they're cooking their pizzas for 45 mins). Save yourself some time and just go to Gino's which is closer to State St (I would recommend Venus In Furs as well, but they apparently don't have a pizzeria anymore). In contrast with some of the other reviewers, we did not find that the ambiance was very good, it was basically a first come, first serve patio seating. One of my friends ended up spilling half a bottle of wine because of the rickety, crowded table. On top of that, the service was pretty...

Cozy location and tucked in the neighborhood off the regular tourist path.
We ordered the half Margherita half pepperoni pizza. This was just what we were craving. The sauce was perfect in flavor, not too sweet or overpowering. The basil was fresh and the generous amount of pepperoni was delicious. The crust was perfectly crispy on the bottom and soft on top and thin with great flavor.
Such a cozy little atmosphere to sit in outside. Felt like a rustic and eclectic garden while enjoying our dinner. We were so glad that I had found the article and made a point to visit this place. Would definitely order from here whenever we come back to Santa Barbara!
As a reference if your visiting or staying near downtown, we took an Uber there and walked about 20+ minutes back to State St. to walk it off. Would do it again in...
