This was our third visit to this wonderful B&B!! We always enjoy Santa Barbara but this inn makes it even more special. After the 2 hour drive up the coastline, we are welcomed with homemade cookies. There are three types that have changed with the season. This visit included pumpkin spice cookies along with white chocolate macadamia nuts and some gluten and vegan choices. They have also served chocolate chip, oatmeal and lemon shortbread. It is hard to decide what kind to choose!! After enjoying cookies and some tea in the dining room, we were able to relax in the comfort of the Wedgewood Room.
At 5:30 we came back downstairs to enjoy a glass of wine out on the porch. You never know who you will meet and get talking to at a B&B. You might ask how others spent their day or what they are planning to do tomorrow. There is always the question where are you from, how long are you staying and what do you do. The conversation can just continue from there.
The next morning you have arranged the time you would like to be seated for breakfast. What a delicious breakfast Bath Street Inn serves!! Breakfast is different each day. One day is sweet and the other is savory. Hot coffee starts the meal with OJ, yogurt, fresh fruit and homemade granola. Then pancakes with fruit and whipped cream!! It was scrumptious and a great start for all the activities you can do in this beautiful city.
After walking all over we came back in time for warm homemade cookies. The second night you often reconnect with the same people and build on the relationship as you want. You might even all go out to dinner together after enjoying a glass of either Pavette pinot noir or Pavette sauvignon blanc. Both types were very good! Once again it was hard to choose which type to have.
Waking up on the last morning of our visit was bittersweet. The 2 night stay had flown by. We were so much more relaxed than just a couple days earlier! Looking forward to breakfast we went downstairs and found our table set up. Coffee was served along with the OJ, fresh fruit, yogurt and homemade granola. This morning we had the most delicious quiche with guacamole and sour cream alongside a muffin.
Check out is the reasonable 11am. As we were leaving Yolanda was cooking the pumpkin spice cookies and offered for me to take a few more for the road! She had been very accommodating and welcoming the whole visit and we told her we...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Bath Street Inn celebrating her birthday. Even though the house is more than 130 years old, it wasn't 'creaky'. We stayed in 'Susan's Loft', which I chose due to the fact it had an attached balcony, perfect for relaxing outside with a cup of tea. The room was renovated in a very innovative manner, using every bit of available space in what looked to be an attic originally. The shower and toilet were built into the eaves. The toilet, despite being enclosed in a small room was eminently usable. The shower had a small tiled area outside of it to prevent water damage to the wood floor, and was big enough for both of us to fit in at the same time ;). The bed was comfortable, the sliding glass door and window allowed for plenty of natural light and ventilation. There is a good sized closet, a sink outside of the toilet room, and a chest of drawers with desktop in the entry area. The only things wrong with the room were marginal wifi on the balcony, and the gas stove didn't work. An electric room heater was in the closet, we used that to keep the room comfortable. The breakfast the next morning was delicious, the staff were great, the whole place was tidy and we had a memorable experience. Parking was easy, plenty of spots in the back of the property. Be aware the 'Summer House' has lots of stairs to get to the rooms. I paid just under $250 for the night. It's in a residential neighborhood, so it's relatively quiet, but at the time we were there (Monday/Tuesday) there was some tree trimming going on with a chipper running. It didn't bother us at all, but remember this isn't a private resort. We enjoyed our experience and would...
Read moreWe Love This Place! Over the past year we have travelled to Santa Barbara half a dozen times. We've tried several hotels and a couple of inns and B and Bs Bath Street Inn comes out the winner for quality, comfort, cleanliness, value and the very best breakfasts. ||Lets be clear that we prefer the ambience and attention to detail that you get with these privately owned and operated B and B accommodations. Much like those we experience in the United Kingdom where you get individual care and attention by the principles of the business. It's a much more personal and relaxing vibe than you get in a chain hotel. The people looking after the property and your stay are the owners of the business. They have the pride and commitment to make sure that they are doing the absolute best for each and every customer. ||Here at the Bath Street Inn we see the same staff caring for the details of our stay. The rooms are cozy and very clean. It feels much more like a home away froom home. In the afternoon their is a complimentary glass of wine and home made cookies that are fabulous. In morning freshly brewed coffee and exquisite healthy breakfasts are all part of the menu. ||On the occasion our room was Susan's Loft, a room we love with a wonderfully comfy bed and an attached outdoor balcony that offers beautiful views of the Santa Ynez Mountain range. ||Everything at the Bath Street Inn befits the style, charm and quiet elegance of Santa Barbara itself. We can't wait to stay here again on our next trip to...
