I have always loved super cucas food and never had a Problem with the service there up Until this past Monday. It was my birthday and I had been at six flags all day long. When I got home I was exhausted and didn't want to go back out , so I went on Santa Barbara menus and got super cucas for delivery. I got the combo burrito which was supposed to be rice beans cheese meat and vegetables (which was my bad I didn't realize) and I added sour cream and guacamole. My food arrived and since I had done it all online I had already tipped and paid the delivery fee so in total it was over 15 dollars. That was fine, but when I took a bite into the burrito it tasted different so I opened it up and inside was just meat and celery and peppers and zucchini. I was upset so I called them right as they were closing. I told the woman who answered the phone what happened very politely and she told me the combo burrito came with veggies meat rice beans and cheese (my fault I hadn't realized it came with veggies) , I said ok my bad but there was no rice beans or the sour cream or guacamole I paid extra for, she said well the combo burrito is supposed to come with all the things I mentioned earlier. I told her again that's not what I got in my burrito. She hung up on me. I thought maybe the phone disconnected so I called back again and could tell someone answered, but she just hung up again. I don't like spicy, so I gave the burrito to one of my roommates. I'm very dissapointed I ended my bday very pissed off, I love cucas and just wanted to eat something good on my bday only to get a burrito full of vegetables ?!?! Telhe food is good but I don't know about the people working here. Totally rude and unprofessional. At the least they should have brought me the correct burrito with...
Read moreI've been eating here for 30 years. It's amazing. Never has changed but for the better. The Veggie burrito is the best veggie burrito on the planet. I can say this authoritatively because I've tried veggie burritos on every continent I've been to and none measure up. Is there a veggie burrito on Antarctica? I doubt it.
I'm writing this review not because Cucas needs it, but only to thank Cucas for making it real for so many decades. There was no Google (or even barely an Internet) the first time I was introduced to this magnificent place.
Since then they've paved the lot, grown the dining space, and just kept making great, real food. Heck, they even got written up in the New York Times travel section.
If I lived in Santa Barbara still I'd be here all the time.
Love, peace, and all the respect to Super Cucas for being, literally, the best...
Read morePortions are enormous - fantastic outdoor patio with both covered and open-air tables. This is an excellent place to bring children, vegetarians, AND vegans (Sorry for lumping you all together - haha). They do have high chairs, booths - as well as tables and chairs. It's located on the corner of Mitcheltorena and San Andreas, so there are cars driving about, but the dining area is set back away from the street. Parking in back (yes, handicapped spots also) - be careful you don't block someone in. I was just here the other day, and mentioned Cuca's was the first restaurant that my family from France was having a meal. Very generously, we were comped a beer, as well as chips and guacamole. It's due to these small - but extremely lovely and thoughtful - gestures that cause me to come back...
