I’ve been eating rustys for 30 years
They are the best pizza in town but a few things I’ve watched occur over the past years that I don’t like that I wish they would improve
They started using all white cheese when you order extra cheese it’s just more white cheese that to me taste bland I like the yellow cheese when I ordered extra cheese previously.
The Parmesan in the containers clump up and taste and smell horrible they didn’t used to until the last three years or so not sure what they are doing now that this occurs. Using ultra fine Parmesan would be a awesome upgrade(that other pizza companies use stored in the fridge to maintain freshness)but not required I just want their old fresh Parmesan to taste good again in the glass containers they have at the restaurants
Sometimes they skimp on the cheese not as often as it used to occur but still every once in while.
The prices on the lunch special have gone from 7 dollars to almost 12 now in the last 7 years it’s not a deal anymore. Especially in the last 3 years it’s increased a lot

Read moreRusty’s is not the same anymore. By biggest concern was that I ordered a Medium pizza and it had very scarce toppings. I had ordered a whole pepperoni with half pineapple and half meatball. I was extremely disappointed by the amount of meatball I got. I could almost count with 1 hand how many pieces they put on. This has never been an issue before and I know because I used to work there back in 2019-2021. The prices have gone up quite a bit as well which is understandable since everything else in this economy has gone up. You used to get 2 ranches for free with your order but now they charge for each individual one. If I’m paying $22 for a medium pizza I think I’m entitled to a side of ranch . Another problem is the Ai technology that takes your order over the phone. Read moreThe pizza is very good and is kind of like home for santa barbarans, but even though it excells in flavor, they lack in the customer service department. The “manager” at the milpas location has been nothing but rude to us and not just one occasion but multiple. We are very understanding of the busy pace of a restaurant and when our orders have been made wrong we politely ask for them to be made again do to food allergies, but apparently that gets returned with a negative attitude “rolling of the eyes” and making sure our orders are pushed to the very end, “maybe to teach us a lesson?” And I have learned that complaining to supervisors gets you no where being that they are friends or relatives.
