I was craving Quesabirria but was too far from my usual spot, so I searched for nearby places on Yelp. Fortunately, I found this taco truck just a few minutes away. Although I'm not usually keen on trying new places when I'm hungry, I went ahead and ordered two Quesabirrias and one al pastor taco to meet the $10 minimum for card payments. The lady taking my order was friendly and quickly took care of everything. While ordering, a child asked if I wanted to buy a candy bar, but I didn't have any cash on me. The lady asked if my order was for here or to go and if I wanted consomé - I chose to go and said yes to the consomé.
I waited at a clean table with Mexican music playing in the background, loud enough for conversation. The smell of cooking food was enticing. After 10-15 minutes, my order was ready, and the lady asked what type of salsa I wanted. I chose spicy and medium.
When I opened my bag, I found a paleta (Mexican lollipop), which was a nice touch. My taco and Quesabirria were neatly packed with various toppings like onion, cilantro, grilled onion and Serrano, lemon, and pickled radish with habanero. I hadn't realized I needed to add the onion and cilantro to the Quesabirria myself, but it was fine since I could adjust it to my liking. The Quesabirria was crunchy with a good filling, and I really enjoyed it! The consomé was a bit too salty. The spicy salsa was smoky, and the green medium sauce was tasty, both pairing well with the Quesabirria and consomé. The al pastor taco was juicy and flavorful, filled with a good portion and a hint of pineapple.
The service was welcoming and friendly, and although there was a bit of a wait, it was worth it for the fresh food. The truck is located in the Guitar Center parking lot with two tables for seating. You need to spend over $10 to use a credit card. There's a large variety of items on the menu, and I'll definitely come back...
Read moreWas leaving the Guitar Center and hadn't had lunch yet. I saw a big pink taco truck and about ten people waiting in front. Decided to give it a try. Have no idea why people rate this place so highly after trying their tacos.
My order was for tacos de asada, carnitas and pastor. After a bit of a wait (near 20 minutes in line and to get the order), I finally got my tacos wrapped in foil and took off. The girl working inside the truck was friendly and spoke perfect English. They only had the salsa verde, so I took a couple of those with my order.
All the meat inside the tacos was near flavorless. The meats didn't taste like they were grilled; the beef asada and pork carnitas and pastor had the texture and taste of boiled meat with a minuscule amount of seasoning. It took nearly all the salsa verde to try and draw some flavor out of the tacos.
Eating these tacos felt like a chore. I could hardly taste anything apart from the cilantro and tortillas. Didn't compare at all to the grilled and flavorful tacos at El Grullense across from Costco in Redwood City or El Chalateco’s Al Pastor shaved from the trompo on Jackson and Alum Rock. In a nutshell, the people who work there seem nice and the truck was clean and painted brightly but their food was a...
Read moreHands down the best tacos, I have ever had. This place is highly rated and there is a reason why. The food was immaculate. Went for lunch on a weekday afternoon, and the place was little empty. There are a couple of chairs and benches laid outdoors under the umbrella to save from the scorching California heat. We had the quesadillas and the Birria tacos. Within Biyani tacos, I tried the Carnitas and chorizo. Everything was perfect and mouthwatering. After having one taco, I had to order more because it was so good. The broth was spicy yet, not overly spicy. The cheese was perfect, and the ratio of meat to cheese to spice was perfect. you can also get various salsa to go with your food, and we tried a little bit of everything. The spicy red sauce is definitely my favourite. The pricing is extremely generous, and there is no tipping. I would definitely be back again. Also, don’t come here if you’re a vegetarian. We had a vegetarian friend with us, but anticipating this, we had made him eat elsewhere already, and that was a...
