Highly disappointed with my experience. Frankly I'd give them 0 stars but Google wouldn't allow me to. We felt extremely discriminated against. I know its long, but please read this if you're a person of color.
I've been to this restaurant multiple times & though the customer service has never been stellar, it has never been as terrible as it was last night. I drove 45 mins from Lancaster to eat there for my birthday, only for me & my table to be ignored for the first 10 minutes of our arrival. Who i believe to be the manager at the time, sat 3 feet away from our table on the computer while he ignored us before he finally decided to take our drink order.
He came back another 5-7 minutes later with our drinks and took my AYCE order, but completely ignored my friends and brother and didn't take their food order for literally 30+ minutes. Every time we'd attempt to get the server or managers attention, they'd ignore us and walk away as they heard us kindly attempting to get their attention as they stood just feet away from us. To make matters worse, we were 1 of only 2 tables! The restaurant was empty and they STILL ignored us. Then when a party of non colored people came in, the manager was very attentive with them and checked in with them often. 2 other small parties of colored people came in and they were served, but they also had to wait long periods for service.
THEN, the manager argued with me about getting 1 more roll after he said we had passed the 90 minute mark, but during the full 90 minutes we were only able to get their attention 3 times and they made my friends wait literally 45 minutes before they could even place their order. They made sure to serve the non colored table promptly though. I could barely take advantage of the pricey AYCE because the servers made it so difficult to...
Read moreBeen a few months since My Son and I last visited this restaurant. 11:45am and we are the first one's in here. So far, it's looking good for Bonsai Garden. I'm expecting to add between 1 and 4 stars to the current 1 Star. Good Luck and God Speed, Bonsai!
Uh Oh. What just happened... an order WE DID NOT request was just dropped off at our tables and what's more, is the fella that took it off the table said, 'YOU must've checked the Wrong Box.'
We checked NO BOXES, as the Waiter being trained by the seasoned waitress reviewed our order with us SEVERAL TIMES before he put it in.
I explained how my son does NOT eat Avocado. This thing was Doused in Sauce and Avocado.
Maybe Things AREN'T looking up.... Lobster Roll just arrived. Looks okay.
45 minutes after ordering our first Sushi Options, Still waiting on the Assorted Sashimi. Not Going Real Good, B.G.S.
Kudos to Chris!!! He single-handedly Brought Bonsai Garden Sushi back to the Top!!! Precisely where they Belong!! His attitude and demeanor were Top Notch!! You would NEVER guess he was one of the newer servers, however he could give some pointers to some of the old time servers here. His apology at the end of the meal was not required, but certainly appreciated! Keep it up, Chris!!! You're going places, my friend!!

Used to be my Go To place for Sushi, but after getting Mad Dogged by the Tall Japanese Sushi Chef throughout our entire meal, I wont go back here. If I happen to be in the mood for a Nasty Guy staring me down, I may reconsider... until then,...
Read moreAs you enter you are greeted by an open and spacious space. The sushi bar area is nicely decorated and looks well maintained. The entire restaurant is meticulously clean with everything in its place.
Service is attentive and gracious. I ordered the Chicken Karaage Curry and my mom ordered the Salmon Collar. When our food arrived it looked fantastic. The Chicken Karaage looked really crunchy. I ate a piece off the top and it was extremely crunchy, my expectations were high. I dipped a piece of chicken into the curry sauce, but the sauce seemed bland. As I ate it was clear the chicken was incredible, but the curry sauce was broken. There were multiple signs of separation. Some parts were watery and bland, other parts were thicker with stronger flavor. In the picture separation can be seen around the edges of the sauce. Another issue is the rice was room temperature and the grains were starting to tighten and did not mix well with the curry sauce. The disappointing thing is both issues could have easily been fixed before serving. The curry sauce was an easy fix and the rice just had to be warmed. Small things really do make a big difference. I would give the Chicken Karaage alone a 5 out of 5, but with the curry sauce and rice, I would knock that down to a 3.5 out of 5. If everything was freshly made I'm sure it would have been a 5 out of 5.
This is a Sushi Bar and I didn't even try the sushi, so I can't say much about it. However, the prices are very reasonable and definitely worth a try.
Overall the issues were minor. So, this is a place...
