The Hungry Ninja - A Nostalgic Disappointment

The Hungry Ninja, a local favorite, has held a special place in my heart since 2011, when I was in high school. The half chicken and half beef rice combo plate was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece back then. It was known for its perfectly cooked meats, flavorful rice, and fresh vegetables. Fast-forward 13 years, and the anticipation of reliving those cherished memories of what I once considered my dream food was palpable.

With great expectations, I revisited The Hungry Ninja. However, my excitement soon turned into a deep sense of disappointment. The food items that once were a testament to quality and flavor have undergone a noticeable decline, leaving me with a heavy heart. The chicken, once cooked with such intense heat that it achieved a perfect char, now lacks that fiery, satisfying texture. The beef, formerly tender and aromatic, no longer possesses the same enticing allure. The accompanying steamed rice and mixed vegetables, which used to complement the meats so perfectly, failed to impress as they once did.

It pains me to say that the overall umami of the dish has diminished. The Hungry Ninja now stands as a shadow of its former self, a mere memory of the culinary delight it used to offer. This once-beloved combo plate did not meet my expectations, leaving me to reminisce about the vibrant flavors of the past. The disappointment was not just in the taste, but also in the loss of a cherished memory, which made the experience even more disheartening.

While my visit was fueled by nostalgia, the reality did not live up to the cherished recollections. Thus, I rate The Hungry Ninja three stars, with a glimmer of hope that it may one day recapture the magic that once made it a standout...

My first time going here to pick up take out (dinner). I asked if they took Google Pay and they said yes. A receipt was printed out for me in the amount of $12.54 and then I noticed when reviewing my account online they charged my credit card $13.54. I called the establishment today and was told they charge $1.00 for credit. No one told me that when I purchased my food and asked about payment. The guy who answered the phone said there are signs. I did not see any. I will never go back to this establishment again. The food was just OK (ordered the teriyaki chicken - some of it was burnt, over cooked) so I probably would not have gone back again anyway but now it is certain. I am also disputing the additional charge with my Credit Union. The guy who answered the phone said "go ahead". I asked to speak with a Manager and he claimed there was no Manager. I also noticed the receipt they gave me (after the fact) was dated "04/28/2012" and the time was "10:50:23AM" on the receipt. Lesson learned and anyone else who goes to this establishment, be aware. If I could give less than one...

The food here is disgusting. I had ordered my usual beef & shrimp and was extremely dissapointed. My plate was filled to the rim with rice and tiny pieces of burnt beef mixed in with shrimp the size of a dime. Shrimp was not devained, lots of grease in the soggy cabbage with hardly other vegetables. Overall the food tasted bland with no flavor. I was eating it because i was starving & grossed out at the same time, and moments later, yup, ran straight to the restroom to let the demon out. I threw away the rest and I will never ever come back here ever!!! I wasted $17 on this plate!!!!!. Btw, cashier girl was nice but had her nails done the longest ive ever seen somebody working at a restaurant. It's unsanitary and looks tacky. Nor thier hair was tied in a ponytail to avoid hair in the food. Does anybody know thier...
