My wife, son, and I wandered into The Local one night for dinner. It's a modern feeling gastropub type place which was packed with people both inside and out. So the atmosphere was fun though we did have to wait a while for an available table. The service was great and friendly. There are a decent amount of things fro vegetarians to try including a number of starters such as a bavarian pretzel, hummus, buffalo cauliflower and brusels sprouts (if you order it without bacon). You can also sub a Beyond Burger patty on any of the indulgent looking burgers so you won't go hungry. (Oddly they have an extensive salad menu almost all of which has meat in it. I'm sure you could order with out. :/ I had the "Giddy- up BBQ Burger" made with a Beyond patty and served with tots (you can get fries if yu want or sub a side salad for $2). It looked fantastic, though the Beyond Patty was a little over done, and the tots were over done too. My wife had salmon which was also slightly overcooked. Our kid had basil pesto pasta, without the chicken that it normally comes with. He thought it was okay...it was definitely a generous sized portion, but was a little richer than he liked it. So overall it was a fun atmosphere with super-nice serving staff, but none of us really loved what we ate.

I am bringing my review done a couple of stars. The place has changed. Food and service have not been the best on my past few experiences. My most recent added the most value to my review change. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon. The place was open, and not packed. Just the right amount of crowd for the afternoon. I was seated promptly. My server was dressed like a bar back. Unprofessional and tasteless. I assume there is no dress code. The server took my drink order. I requested another set of silverware and napkin. I explained I was expecting someone in the next five min. My guest arrived, we ordered appetizers, about 30 min passed before the silverware and napkins were delivered. We ordered our food. The bussers never picked up the plates or empty glass on our finished product. Table was really crowed and hard for us to enjoy our meal. My food wasn't the greatest. My sliders were cold. The best thing were my fries. I don't see myself going back.

I had the misfortune of coming to this restaurant some years ago, and most recently, on the 26th of December. This rating and this verbage are not mistakes as the misfortune comes from a lack of efficient public transportation in the United States especially in this particular area as I can't get enough, my drive is 3 grueling hours to get here minimum, but its worth every penny and kinda worth enduring the drive. I came to this restaurant on a whim some 4+ years ago, never forgetting that whatever I had was so insanely good (just remembered it was the tri tip steak sandwhich). Since then, I wanted to come back and try more of the food I saw folks around me eating. So, this December 26th of 2024, I had to make a trip to The LOCAL, and again, it was so sad that it was so good because I will have to come back and try more food after 3 hours of a drive with minimal traffic. So let this be something to inspire our munincipalities to develop our infrastructure to allow for trains and subways to get me from point A to B, around 150 miles, in less than 3 hours and something like 1-1.5hrs max, because I can't wait to come back, this is a "calling out from work so I can go eat good" type of place. Sports on the TV's without being too loud but the energy in the room also is great, servers were awesome and moving fast, food was hot and fresh and well seasoned, didn't have to touch the salt or pepper. My only critique was the mac and cheese was not so powerful in flavor, but it was great, maybe it needed a sharper flavor to cut through but its a preference thing for me, regardless I still finished it. Nachos were awesome, tasted like fresh made chips, not burnt either; they were cripsy and weren't falling apart either, even after sitting on the plate for a while. Had the happy hour flatbread which I'm not necessarily a fan of flatbread, my partner was, but regardless it was packed with really good complimenting flavors, and again, I can't wait to try some of their other pies bwcause if that was good, I can't wait to find my favorite. No photos unfortunately, my partner and I bodied it, and the leftovers went to the family at home so they could understand what I mean about this place too.

This place is good, so if youre in the area, please swing by and keep em in business, not that they need the help, I just I need this place open so I can keep...

errible Service / Treatment - Don't Waste Your Time or Money - If you can live without the TVs, Brewery Draconum and Newhall Refinery both have staff that treats you better, better prices, better beer and similar food.

My wife and I had heard good things about this place and were excited to give it a try. We stopped in for dinner and drinks on Sunday and were surprised to see the place was hopping.

We had to wait a little for two seats at the bar - but were happy to do so.

My wife and I prefer dark beer - and weren't encouraged by what we saw on the beer list... my wife asked what the darkest beer they had on tap was and the bartender described it as a 'red combined with an IPA'... Hmmmm... not even close... but we'd heard such good things and had such high hopes, we decided to stay and find something we liked.

I saw a Maui Brewing bikini blonde - so I ordered that. However, my wife doesn't care for it and asked to try a taste of two beers to see if she liked either of them... the bartender brought them over - but she didn't like either. She asked for a taste of something else she thought she might like... when the bartender came back and gave her her third sip of beer, he said 'three's the limit on these - especially with the boss watching.'

Wait. What? Let me get this straight... my wife specifically asks for dark beer. You don't have anything even close... so you want to hassle her for trying three sips of beer so that she can find something she likes so we can stay and spend our money at your restaurant? It's a mistake we won't make again.

Honestly, most craft beer places have a variety of beer - not ten kinds of two styles - and they encourage their customers to try new things. They educate... they help you have a great experience. And in return, you go back because you have a great time and there's lots of stuff you like.

For us? We won't be back. My blonde was fine - but as far as we know, there's nothing my wife likes there... she felt pressured to order from one of the three that she was allowed to taste - none of which she liked. All we know for sure is they have three beers she doesn't like and one I don't mind... which is a bummer because this is the kind of place we'd like...

Absolutely loved this place! Probably the best service I’ve ever received! I’m not even playing. I’m big on reviews. Look me up on all review platforms. I love food and long time hospitality worker. I retired the apron and spindle buuuuut ik from my experience as a bar manager and long time server when I have a good experience that it just wasn’t a good day. They had me seated, fed and paid with no issues and not ever waiting. The hosts were waiting with a smile and ready to seat! The server came right away and dropped drinks in moments! I’m not even exaggerating. It couldn’t even have been three minutes. Apps came by in like 7 minutes. They were these giant home made mozzarella sticks breaded in perfection! I’m drooling rn! The marinara was even amazing and I thought I didn’t like marinara. Then we got refills again without even asking, picked up our dirty plates as soon as we were done and sure enough if here comes our entrées, Philly cheesesteak sandwich with these perfectly seasoned french fries so crispy so fresh my boyfriend got the fish and chips and the presentation was amazing. The breading was great. He got it with tater tots which I thought was crazy but they were good too. We didn’t order dessert. I really wanted to, but I was so stuffed because everything was too good to leave on the plate and take to go so I didn’t save any room. We are definitely coming back here again, even though I like trying new places every time we go out of town I go out of town all the time! I can’t remember my server’s name or the busters who collected everything as soon as we were done. She was slammed! I just know it but never expressed it and never looked worried. Dropped the check and closed us out at the table! All that for like $50 something bucks. Do not HESITATE AND TRY THIS PLACE! Get the...
