First, let me say that the service is always incredible here. The people who work here are always extremely helpful and sweet. 2. The place is roomy, sunny, hip but not exclusive, family-friendly but not full of screaming children, so in short, able to serve all comfortably. It's a little cool in the winter time, so not terribly attractive for me, but that's not exactly a huge problem since I live quite nearby. I am, however extremely disappointed yet again in the kitchen :/. I really loved their old staff's vegan burrito. I don't know if it is the same people or if not. However, I have been being given a vegetarian burrito every time I order a vegan burrito and unfortunately I've ordered to go and not noticed until biting into it later. This is not really something I want... :(. I specifically ordered vegan, not vegetarian...and I noticed the grease definitely was BACON. I'm not someone who makes a huge deal about veganism or even vegetarianism myself, because I can't afford to be. I live on SSDI and I adopted veganism as part of my medical plan. It's helped save a lot of money too! But other people who are definitely looking to avoid certain things like pork or egg really, REALLY need to be aware that this place is a) not listening in the kitchen, no matter how great they are at the counter b) they definitely don't care enough to look at your order closely. So please, look at your order if you do decide to eat here, or order something else. Otherwise, I really like this place. Ok EDIT: THERE WAS BACON IN THIS! ACTUAL BACON!
Edited again: I took my burrito back, since I do live a short walk away and they were very sweet and gave me a refund and a new, vegan burrito at 3:30pm or so, which is near when they close. So that was really very nice of them. :) What happened: there were two numbers as mine (65) and we'd both ordered the breakfast burrito, but apparently mine was vegan and the other woman's was not. I had placed mine at the end of the bar where I was sitting and didn't see anyone move the number, but apparently she must have been handed my burrito earlier or she took it later. I looked closer and the name on the ticket was not mine, it was Anna. But the staff knew about the mix-up before I went back, so it seems that the other woman must have made the discovery first.
Kitchen staff walked right past me, and to a group of twenty-somethings to ask if their burrito was vegan...just maybe remember I'm alone and come back for a reason, not because I am refueling on caffeine like a robot lol. Also, this may be because I came back at 3:30 and the kitchen was closing, but the potatoes were unfortunately soggy in the vegan burrito while the potatoes in the regular burrito were nicely crispy, although bacon grease may be the culprit here. Not everyone has the talent of frying potatoes using only vegetable oils...:).
Extremely sweet if not particularly thoughtful staff, quality ingredients, up and down delivery. Thank you Cat & Cloud for my vegan burrito. Your staff is very polite &...
Read moreThis place is kinda crazy in the best way. I remember when the award winning Verve barista (who's name I forget) was talking about forming his own company - and this is the result.
What blows me away about these guys is their attention to SERVICE. Like...in a coffee shop. I've been working here early mornings lately and getting the same thing daily. This morning provides a clear example of what I see daily here. They'd just opened, and there's a line (at 6:30 am). Two cashiers are working, and there are two of us behind the first customer. The barista, who had nothing else going on, called out to the guy in front of me, from across the room, 'hey friend, what 'chu drinking this morning' so he could get it going.
Then, when my food order came out (Greens and grain bowl, the healthiest tasty breakfast in town), the woman who brought it over said "would you like some hot sauce or salt and pepper?"...mind you, those condiments are at a public bar for anyone to get...and she's acting like this is a full service restaurant.
Finally, you know how you go for counter service and there's always the guilt tip screen..and you tip 20% even though you aren't getting sit down service, cause...guilt? Well, the counter dude, when he flipped the screen to me for that final, said "you can bypass that screen if you want", giving me permission to view the tip as optional. I tipped anyway, of course, but noticed that when the screen goes back to the cashier it doesn't tell them what the tip was, unlike so many of these screens. Don't take that as an excuse not to tip decently, but do take it as recognition by the establishment that tip pressure is tough on customers during these inflationary times.
Incredibly thoughtful overall. Way to go all around, Cat and Cloud! I'm impressed.
PS: I've heard it's best to tip cash as the machines allow management to divvy up tips as they see fit (which can mean they don't even get to employees)...don't know if that's true, but something to keep in mind for those of you...
Read moreI’ve been here a few times. Unfortunately when I stopped in today, I guess I didn’t understand that their purpose was to”grab and go”. I stopped in to work, my laptop battery was low, and was told there were no outlets. I had just ordered a coffee, and it’s a half an hour drive home with traffic. I see an outlet on the wall above a window, I ask a staffer if I can use it, they said sure. Problem solved. Then someone approached me and said I cannot use the outlet let because it’s a hazard ( it was above a window rather than down low). I said I can’t stay if I don’t use it, I just bought this coffee, and there are no other outlets. He told me that was the whole purpose of cat and cloud, that it’s grab and go. I pointed at my coffee cup, which was for here. And I said then why do you have coffee and food for here? He said that’s a great question. Any way, he put my coffee in a to go cup and I left. I can’t say this was a good hospitality experience, and I won’t...
