El Pollo Loco — Restaurant in Santa Fe Springs

I dont like leaving bad reviews as I too work in the food industry and sometimes it's gets stressful but this really upset me bc of the lack of professionalism.

I online order my food there most of the time bc takes while for them to fulfill the order. Every time I'm always missing something and I'm still waiting for my order 10 mins after my order time for pick up. This isn't the reason why I'm upset.

This time I ordered a small side of guac for my daughters kids meal, she loves to eat her chips with it. I go through the drive thru to pick it up. I was waiting at the window for 5 mins, I'll wait no issue, no one was behind me. I have made it a habit to check my order before leaving the area due to the reason above. So I pull out the drive thru and park bc by the time they finally gave my order to me there was someone behind me. They forgot to add my daughters guac. So I take the ticket off my bag and pull up my email receipt to show that I ordered it and go inside.

The lady at the counter was nice and we figured out the problem. Which was that the print out ticket for them to fulfill the order doesn't say the small 1oz of guac as an add on for the kids meal.

The same lady goes to get it, but as she gets it she goes around the corner and tells her coworkers about it. That it was only a 69cent charge and it shouldn't matter and they all start giggling about it. This is what upset me. I paid for it, normally I wouldn't care. ITS A 69CENT CHARGE OH WELL, but it was for my child and she was upset about it.

To have them snicker about it around the corner thinking I couldn't hear them was rude, uncalled for, AND LACKED IN PROFESSIONALISM. It really disappointed me bc I...

I giving this pollo loco 4 for because and only because of Ariel. She was so good at taking our order. She also offered us water without asking, great smile and willing to listen and suggesting products to compliment my food. WOW! This should of been a 5 star. But one little small hiccup and it was not Ariel's fault. I checked my food in the my car before i went home and bam they gave me flour tortillas instead of corn tortillas. So i asked Ariel that i given the wrong tortillas. Ariel was like "just keep them, will give you new ones because we are going to throw them away." I was like wow ok, but the manager or more like the meanager yanked them from me like as if she was frustrated and gave me the corn tortillas and didnt even apologize. I've been getting takeout from this El Pollo Loco for nearly a decade. My favorite thing are the tostada bowls or to add an empty tostada to my order then dump whatever I ordered into the empty tostada to make my own tostada bowl. The "meal for two" is like a meal for one if I ask me but then again I could over eat sometimes. Lately the chicken has been tasting great and the green salsa has a better kick to it. There is a drive thru at this location. There is also a stop sign in the drive thru after placing your order so pay attention to it or else you might get some dirty looks from other patrons. Lastly, the churros that are included in some orders are a joke. I do not recommend coming here for the churros or to be swayed into ordering a meal because of the churros which are dry and nearly flavorless at times. Go find some real...
