★☆☆☆☆ Deeply Disappointed — This Place Has Completely Lost Its Way

I’m writing this review as someone who has visited Sagche’s Coffee House many times over the years. I used to really enjoy this place — it had charm, character, and what felt like genuine care behind it. Sadly, that’s no longer the case. My most recent visit was so unprofessional and downright disrespectful that I will never be returning, and I’ll be telling everyone I know to take their business elsewhere.

When we walked in, the first thing we noticed was that several staff members were sitting in the front dining area eating and chatting casually, not working. The owner himself was sitting right at the front of the main dining room, deep in conversation with guests. We walked in, made eye contact with him multiple times, and even chose a table in plain view. He watched us sit down. He looked over more than once. Yet, unbelievably, no one approached us.

No greeting. No “I’ll be right with you.” No “feel free to order at the counter.” Absolutely nothing. We sat there for sixteen full minutes — long enough to start feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome — and still, not a single acknowledgment from anyone on staff. Eventually, we got up and left. We even walked right past the owner on our way out, and he didn’t say a single word. Not “sorry,” not “thanks for coming,” not even a nod. Just silence and indifference.

That kind of behavior speaks volumes. It’s not just bad service — it’s disrespect. And it’s particularly disheartening coming from a place I once spoke highly of and supported many times before. The lack of professionalism and basic hospitality is stunning.

It’s clear that Sagche’s Coffee House has lost the pride and care that once made it a worthwhile stop. I won’t be going back, and I’ll make sure my friends, family, and colleagues know how far this place has fallen. There are too many great local spots in Santa Fe that actually appreciate their customers — this one clearly doesn’t anymore.

Lastly, I doubt the owner or anyone in this restaurant will even bother to read this review or...

Sagche’s is a bright, local Guatemalan restaurant located on St. Michaels Drive near the US 25 exit. We were greeted and seated immediately in a small dining area with beautiful art pieces hung on all of the walls, very welcoming. Many of the other patrons were local and greeted the staff like old friends, boding well for the excellence of the food. And we were not disappointed. I ordered the Smothered Burrito and was treated to one of the best burritos I have had in Santa Fe. The flour tortilla was stuffed with eggs, sausage, roasted potatoes and yellow and green squash (my choice) and covered in spicy green chile sauce served piping hot. The presentation with refried black beans and chopped lettuce and tomato made a beautiful plate. My husband had a Traditional Guatemalan Breakfast with fried plantains, refried beans, Guatemalan cream (tangy, with a sour cream like flavor but a more creamy texture,) and tomato salsa with a large flour tortilla. The highlight of his meal was the fried, sweet plantains. Warming the tomato salsa (a personal preference) might have been a nice touch but that was a minor detail in a good meal. The room was quiet (68 dB) and conducive to conversation. Prices are moderate. We will...

I am celebrating my 86th Birthday today. My daughter who lives in Phx ordered me a bowl of green chili stew with extra potatoes and a choc croissant. What I got was an old looking banana crepe and a croissant with something pink on it. Looks like leftovers. And now not answering phone. Order was 40 minutes late and looks like it was sent by train. Well, yeah, happy birthday. She tried after ordering early in the morning and have a terrible experience with them. They delivered to a wrong house..so refunded her money..said they would deliver another and in 10 minutes texted to say, order cancelled. Sge called and they wouldnt pick up. Appreciate my daughter tryi g..whats the deal with these two places???!! OK...Sagches went out of their way to bring me green chili stew, mini rellanos and extra potatoes about 4pm. I appreciate their trying again. Someone else got my order. So am eating my brunch at 4pm....
