Fire Grill — Restaurant in Santa Maria

Fire grill is a burger/sandwich joint in the Santa Maria Town Center food court that offers a wide variety of traditional American dishes. I've eaten here 3 times and feel that although the service is top notch and the employees are very friendly, the quality of the food is lacking, especially for the price. The chicken tenders are decent, but a little on the dry side. The fries are crispy and solid overall. The onion rings are also crispy, with good flavor, but the portions are small for the price. The burgers are not worth almost $12. I've tried the Cali burger and the BBQ bacon burger, both being relatively disappointing. The Cali burger has a good amount of toppings, but it lacks any sort of fresh flavor. The BBQ burger is very simple, and the burger patties are not seasoned very well, so the meat adds texture more than flavor. My wife and I went there after work for dinner. I ordered the smash burger combo and I don't remember the burger combo my wife got. Anyway, I asked for some ranch for our fries. I was given one small cup and asked for another one since we had 2 orders of fries. I was told that one is free and I would need to pay for the extra. I was a little bothered by this but paid the $.50. We've eaten there before and the food and service was great but tonight both of our burgers were very bland. By the way, the last time we ate there we got 2 ranches for free. The $.50 isn't exactly a strain on the bank account but condiments should already be included in the cost. They had ketchup - which was available for free - but to be charged extra for a small amount of ranch dressing after already spending $30 for our meal just didn't sit well with me. Got the smash burger and loaded fries with tritip. What I got for the loaded fries compared to what the menu showed did not match at all. Which was a bummer because it really didn’t taste that good. The smash burger and fries were cold. I saw they made the burger and fries first and it sat under the heat lamp in a box for a while. So not great. Which sucks because it looks really good from their pictures. Oh well....
