Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brews — Restaurant in Santa Maria

Stopped here for a late dinner on my way home (I'm not a local) after an event. Red Robin isn't super fancy so I didn't have high expectations going in just standard, take my order bring my food expectations.

Had asked to sit in the bar and was told no "because service is really slow there" and told to be patient they had one person ahead of me. Funny thing: I was there person she had to seat ahead of me lol No big deal, probably a long day. So we sit. Just three of us, was 10 min before we got drinks ordered. Then another 10 for food ordered. Food comes to the table, big greasy yum burgers but no utensils or napkins. Those came to our table when we were almost done with our food; again 10 minutes later. Husband got the wrong order but by the time our waiter came back to our table it was pointless. We were hungry after the event and he just ate what he had. Appetizer came out when we were practically done with dinner and I had to ask where it was. Never got refills.

At one point, we asked for refills for fries. He said ok then came back to our table about 10 min later and asked if we wanted more fries. We had to remind him that we already told him. Fries came out on his normalbut10 min internal.

No apologies. Worst service I've experienced in a long time. Two other tables were upset with the same waiter and making complaints to the manager. We ended up just finishing our food, paying, and leaving. It would probably take another 10/15 minutes for the waiter to come back to our table to take our complaints.

Next time we are passing through, we won't be stopping here.

PS-the women's bathroom was SUPER disgusting!

9-10-21 update: Worst night for service and food, was there with a group of 15 to celebrate a birthday.... 1st posted sign telling everyone no chicken that night and later told they were understaffed. 2nd Kept being offered other tables food, drinks and between asking for our drinks we waited 15-20 mintues. Everyone ordered together but food given in groups of 3 only. We were all eating at different times which didn't make sense. The whole reason to go out for the birthday was to eat together. 3rd my simple order of a soup and Cesar salad combo was missed. I didn't get mine until everyone basically finished eating which was 45 mins to an hour later even with the wrong salad ordered. I refused the ordered meal given to me and did not eat. 4th because there were seperate checks there were mistakes in almost all checks given to the group. After this night I'll be happy if never have to go bavk ever again. I would not give them a star at all if that was an option.

I'm not crazy about their menu-alot of burgers, recently tried their soup & salad combo (Chicken Tortilla soup/ Cesar salad)- salad was over dressed- lettuce very wilted, soup literally had 1 piece of chicken (not much else), not much flavor & was very thin. I often wonder why I haven't been to Red Robin in Santa Maria... well, here is why. First of all..upon walking in, the hostess was nowhere to be found, and I had to wait at least two minutes before she made herself visible for us to be seated. Once we were seated, it took about 20 minutes just for a waitress to come to our table and take our order. There was such a delay that the Busboy had offered to take our order which I appreciated however, that wasn't his job and that was something that the waitress should have done PROMPTLY. I was very upset regarding this delay, and found that to be unprofessional and unacceptable. The restaurant was not packed, not busy, and this was just a regular Tuesday evening ...so there shouldn't have been any reason why there was a 20-minute delay before I got to place my order. My food arrived quicker than it took to place the order which is ridiculous! The waitress was friendly which was fine; the only complaint I had towards the end was when I paid in cash. I expected to receive my change back... my total was $15.33 and I paid with $20.33 and the waitress did not come back for a long time with my change, and I had to go approach another waitress to find my original waitress just to get my change back, and I thought that was ridiculous! Needless to say, I will not be returning to...
