The Boy's Restaurant — Restaurant in Santa Maria

Excitedly took my nephew to the Boy's for breakfast, as I remember it fondly and looked forward to sharing the place with him. Given it was a Sunday morning, I knew it'd be busy. We were seated quickly; however the back room had an incredibly loud noise that lasted the entirety of our meal (noisy air vent maybe?). As others have mentioned, the coffee is hardly coffee at all- mostly hot water; no flavor whatsoever. The wait staff is VERY kind and efficient. Our orders were taken in a timely manner. I'd substituted toast for a half an order of biscuits and gravy, which was no problem... Until the bill came. Apparently, there's no charge for the toast/biscuit substitution, but there IS a charge for the gravy. $3.65 is a bit excessive for a drizzle of gravy, and that doesn't seem to be a substitution more than it is an add-on; if it was mentioned at time of ordering, it'd have been fine. My omelette was average, and the portions small. All in all, if I were to visit again, it'd be solely for the atmosphere (*BEST wallpaper and lighting in the backroom!) and...

Ordered from doordash, and only half arrived. Called the restaurant to see if it was all packaged sent. They claimed it was all in one bag, and basically that the driver had to have opened the bag, taken half the food out, sealed the bag up and delivered that to us. When I wanted to confirm that's what they were indeed saying, the woman on the phone said it's doordashes problem, and that she doesn't have time for this, they are busy, and hung up on me. Because apparently someone buying food from them through doordash is not as important as someone who is there. Completely rude, and clearly don't really care about messing up and...

Overpriced and not good! When I asked for sour cream for my California Omelette (menu claimed it came with sour cream) the waitress argued with me that there was enough sour cream inside the omelette.... My young child ordered orange juice and wouldn't drink it because of all the pulp, she charged us anyways plus the choc milk we ordered after. 2 senior meals, 2 kids meals, 1 regular meal- $55 breakfast at this place is not worth it!! Trust me. I would rather go to IHOP or Denny's than this place! Non of us...
