Chaumont Bakery & Café — Restaurant in Santa Monica

I recently visited Chaumont Bakery & Cafe in Santa Monica, and I'd like to provide a moderate review of my experience:

Food Quality: The food at Chaumont is alright, but it didn't leave a lasting impression that would make me crave a return visit.

Variety of Pastries: One of the highlights of the café is its collection of Danish pastries and bread. They offer a wide range of options to cater to various tastes and dietary preferences, including a commendable selection of vegan pastries.

Coffee Quality: The coffee quality falls in the middle range; it's decent but not exceptional.

Service Issues: Unfortunately, the service was the most disappointing aspect of my visit. The food was brought to our table one by one, causing our party of six to have an awkward dining experience, as not everyone could eat together.

Almond Cupcake: On a positive note, the almond cupcake stood out as one of the best pastries I tried at Chaumont.

In conclusion, Chaumont Bakery & Cafe offers a good variety of pastries and bread, including options for different dietary preferences like vegan pastries. I have been driving to the Chaumont in Beverly Hills for years; I’m so happy a Westside location opened up!

All their pastries are amazing, but I specifically love the vegan options. (And, I’m not vegan!) Vegan ham and cheese, vegan chocolate croissants, vegan apricot, strawberry, raspberry, pretty much vegan everything you can think of. Of course, the real butter pastries are amazing too.

The seating area is spacious, with different seating options and lots of floor to ceiling windows - if you’re staying. If you’re taking these beautiful treats to go, Chaumont can place them in a box or bag - they make an excellent gift to take to a friend’s house - and they have a sturdy and pretty take away bag.

Lastly, they have a decent assortment of coffee and tea choices. This morning I ordered a chai latte and it’s very good. More on the sweet side, less spicy.
