Been here a few times now and always had a pleasant experience.
The staff is very nice and knowledgeable about all of the menu and everything available. The meats and veggies are fresh. The breads are made fresh each day ( as far as I know since I've asked ) this is a yes.
The loafs of sourdough are absolutely amazing and I highly recommend buying one for home.
Boars head is quality and we all know this. So with this in mind you know you're going to have a good sandwich here.
I definitely recommend this deli. It's got a real deli feel and great food. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is due to how the deli is organized. Storage is an issue and they have boxes/things hanging around the areas where customers visit. I also noticed that some things aren't cleaned daily ( visible dust on things )
To me owning a restaurant / food joint in general one of the biggest things is to always be clean in all visible areas especially. Or this will cause you to loose business.
Other then that?
Decor: it's fine just needs to be organized more.
Staff: no issues
Food: slightly above average
Bathrooms: N/A...

Tried to order on the phone, and the lady was clearly bothered by trying to take a phone order. She was annoyed by the fact that we didn’t magically know how cheese bagels cost more and couldn’t be counted as part of a normal dozen bagels.
We didn’t mind the extra cost so we said fine. Then, we asked to toast 5 of our dozen bagels for now and we were told that that’s an additional charge (never heard of this). Again, we did not understand but said okay…we had to ask the lady if she wanted our name so she knew whose order it actually was. Then she begrudgingly took the name.
We showed up and then we were told that we would have to buy additional bagels to toast and it couldn’t be a part of the dozen we were already purchasing - huh?
This entire experience was so complicated and we just wanted some breakfast bagels - we took our business elsewhere that actually needed...
Read moreI grabbed a half dozen bagels for the house and have only had the plain and pumpernickel - they are both wonderful. Like any good bagel they store nicely in a paper bag inside your bread box. Like any good bagel they are quite a bit better the first day than hey are the second.
The bagels are fantastic. Slightly less chewy than my favorite place in town, which is completely about personal preference. My family likes these more than the other.
I also grabbed a cream cheese and tomato sandwich. Unfortunately this reeked of Santa Monica and not of Brooklyn. The cream cheese was applied to one side only and was about a tablespoon’s worth. I’m gonna try this place again and assume that it was the kid’s first day there - I didn’t take a photo. Hopefully I’ll be changing this to a five star review when I go in and they don’t serve me like I’m on...
