it’s unfathomable to me, but i’ve lived in the neighborhood for over 40 years and never noticed Rocco’s‘s before. i was asked to bring a gluten-free cake to a party recently, given by really good friends who recommended a bakery near me. it turns out the named bakery’s 8 inch gluten free cake cost $80. the size they wanted me to bring, that could serve more people, was $120. i guess there are people who are willing to spend that kind of ridiculous money on a cake for a non-occasion, but i’m not one of them. While searching around on the Internet, I came across Rocco’s Cheesecake. Not only were all the reviews exceptional… but on top of that, they offered gluten free options for a simple markup of $3. contacting johnny to order their caramel almond cheesecake was the best choice i've made in along time. first of all, you don’t get a machine ...you get to talk to a human.. and one who obviously loves and cares about what he’s doing. it was such a pleasure to talk to him. i felt like i'd known him for decades. since i live so close by, i went in to order and he didn’t even ask for a deposit. i told him when i needed it and it was ready to go as planned. i was also thrilled to find that it was a 10 inch cheesecake, as i thought it would be a standard 8 inch. most importantly of course is the taste. there are about 20 people at this party and when dessert was served, there were plenty of other options. but the consensus was from all 20 people, was that this was the best cheesecake that ever had in their lives. we've gotten so used to the plastic tasting slice you'd get at a place like the cheesecake factory...that we couldn’t remember the last one that actually tasted as good, as fresh and as real. so kudos to Johnny and his team (nice meeting you taylor) for making it all so easy and creating the best...
Read moreThis is ONLY for the Keto cheesecake I tried here. Service was fine, except the girl told me I only had to wait 10 minutes for this completely frozen keto cheesecake to defrost, which was about an hour too short.
Again, this is for the Keto cheesecake only.
It was downright terrible. The crust was almost powdery and tasteless. The cheesecake filling was airy, not rich at all, with a consistency hardly like cream cheese - it was a big grainy even. The lemon topping was not sweet at all. I mean, I understand it's a keto low carb cheesecake but there seemed to be no effort trying to make this taste or even have the same consistency of a cheesecake. I'm hugely disappointed this came from a shop where seeming their other stuff is great. I've had plenty of keto cheesecake that had tasted no different than regular cheesecake.
I don't throw food out, let alone cheesecake, but I didn't even want to finish it. That's a...

We were having cheesecake cravings, and so headed over to Santa Monica from USC in order to give this place a try, since it had rave reviews. The hype is well warranted! The interior is a bit messy but homey, and has a warm, comfortable vibe to it. There's a display case with all of the different cheesecakes available, with tiered prices depending on whether they're a regular cheesecake or gourmet cheesecake.
The owner is the best! He was so friendly and we had a lovely conversation with him. I really appreciated the time he took to get to know us personally. After getting an cookies-n-cream type of cheesecake, as well as a plain New York style cheesecake, I was amazed by the quality of both of them! Rich and creamy and delicious! ...
