El Preferido Taco Shop (Best Tacos) — Restaurant in Santa Paula

We went to go order food we ordered about $30 in food the owner was very negative even while we are ordering he seemed annoyed that he had to take our order even though we were really kind to him and he gave us our food it was about $30 we went outside to the benches to sit and eat because it look like there was outdoor seating and we cleaned up after ourselves because we saw people seem to hang out outside often respectfully and I asked for a to go bag the owner gave me an attitude saying why should I haveto get another you one I can't be giving bags away In front of a customer I felt embarrassed and disrespected but smiled anyway he was rude from the start I mean you would think for $30 he would have been a little bit more hospitable especially since I had my little boy with mme who's very shy we were looking forward to eating there all morning would pass it through the week because of the reviews but because of how mean he was for no reason it's not a place we want to ever go back to plus the enchiladas didn't taste that great anyway you could find better at terrazza or somthing his tasted bland and was cold from the start even my burrito was cold I don't know if that was on purpose or what but it was...

Been here multiple times over the years and I have never been disappointed. El Preferido Taco is my PREFERRED taco spot in Santa Paula CA. The food is consistently good and the service is delivered with a smile. I've called many orders in over the phone and in my order is consistently ready when I show up.

Today I tried 3 different tacos: chicken, al pastor & asada. All 3 were good but in my opinion the Al Pastor had the most flavor!! Adding their hot red sauce really took it to the top for me. In a close 2nd place is their Asada taco. It is very tender too.

After reading past reviews on Yelp, I inspected their lobby and found it to be very clean. All the tables were wiped down and the floor was clean too. I asked the owner Jesus about it and he says they take pride in keeping their area as clean as possible. There are a few times when it gets super busy that it's challenging to balance making food and cleaning the lobby. My new favorite place… the gentleman working at the counter, greeted us and was exceptionally friendly. He informed us that he would carry our food out to us after we placed our order. My husband’s coworker recommended this mom and pop place. My husband knows that I love cheese, enchiladas, and corn burritos. His coworker recommended the corn burritos. I ordered the enchilada platter. The enchiladas did not disappoint. The enchiladas were stuffed with cheese with a side of refried beans and rice. My husband ordered himself three tacos (lengua, pastor, buche). He enjoyed the tacos. We ordered an order of five corn burritos. They were perfectly crispy on the outside with melted cheese on the top… the corn burrito sauce came on the side. I like that they serve the corn burrito sauce on the side so that way by the time you receive the corn burritos, they are not soggy. They were not chintzy on the cheese or beans inside.
