Panda Express — Restaurant in Santa Paula

I’ve tried panda express a few times and the food always tastes like nothing or pure sugar. I don’t understand how people enjoy food that tastes like it’s been leftover for a week. I haven’t had any trouble with the service as the workers are always nice, but that doesn’t make the food good haha. I am bitter also that they decided to put this panda express at this location where another one hundred times better chinese food place was for years. I went to that place many times since my childhood, their food was always AMAZING. It was even our family favorite. Of course a small chinese place can’t compete with a big corporation so the competition was removed eventually since everyone prefers a big and popular name rather than good food. I had an unfortunate experience at Panda Express during my recent visit. I ordered a chicken egg roll, and while the cashier was handling a cash deposit to the safe, she accidentally dropped the egg roll on the floor. To my surprise, she slowly picked it up and continued troubleshooting her register, seemingly distracted, before she bagged the egg roll that had fallen. Since I had already been waiting for a while and didn’t want to cause a scene, I didn’t say anything at the time. However, I ended up throwing the egg roll in the trash.

Won a gift card at an office party and decided to use it at the Santa Paula location. Never been in there before. I was very pleasantly surprised! The serving and eating areas were immaculate and inviting. I ordered the 2 entree plate with fried rice. The teriyaki chicken came right off the grill - can't get fresher than that! The servings were tremendous for the paltry $11 that came off my gift card. Speaking of...the cashier had problems processing the card. But the manager jumped right in and took care it. 5 stars across the board were well deserved. I will certainly be back to use the rest of my card...
