Kind of a divey obscure restaurant from the outside but tried it anyways. The inside decor is an old building that they tried to make it comfortable which the booths they have are. Don't come here if you're looking for awesome ambiance or high class. It's kind of what you'd get in a decent restaurant in Mexico and the waitresses are very nice and speak English very fluently. The menu is quite extensive and we tried the machacca with a large bowl of beans and homemade corn tortillas as well as a 3 combo plate with Chilli rellano, chicken and cheese enchiladas with green chili sauce rice and refried beans. The food was pretty good, the machacca was different than I'm used to wit pieces of steak asada mixed with green peppers, onions, and a little egg. Mostly asada but it was surprisingly tasty. The rellano was excellent as was the green sauce. The homemade tortillas are a bit heavy for my tastes but are authentic and probably done the old fashioned way with lard but don't quote me. All in all a good restaurant with chips and salsa a you're free appetizer and wholesome authentic Mexican food. My only downfall was I thought there prices were about 20 percent too high for their location and interior ambiance. There close to the price of some really nice restaurants with better locations and more impressive...
Read moreThe food is a 3 but the service is a 5, so I averaged it out to a 4. Came here with the fam after mass and the place was popping. We got seated after checking in with the back counter, and the waitress was quick to take our order. We split some carne asada fries and supreme nachos among the four of us, and my dad also got a couple of tacos. He was pleasantly surprised by the amount of meat he had on the tacos, and they’re well-priced at $1.75 each. We were disappointed by the supreme nachos, which we ordered with al pastor. It was dry and the meat wasn’t as flavorful as we’d hoped. It had cotija cheese and retried beans along with some lettuce (we asked for no sour cream). The tortilla chips themselves good and they give you free chips and salsa too, but the nachos weren’t that tasty. The carne asada fries were relatively better but also still not the best. The fries were thick cut and also was a bit dry.
It’s a good option for a sit down restaurant with friendly service, but just know that the food leaves a bit to be desired. Parking is easy as there’s free street parking as well as a lot in the back. They’ll bring the check to you, as the counter was for all the to-go orders. They do take...
Read moreWe used to love going here to get a Caldo de Res. It was one of the better places where thay made it. But as of lately the quality of their caldo has gone down. We placed our order over the phone and they told us 20 min for it to be ready. When we got their they hadn't even started making it. By the waitresses expresion it almost felt like they had forgotten. They rushed to make it and had us wait another 30 min. It seems like they threw in their caldo what ever meat they had to make the order. The meat, if you can call it that, was mostly fat. I think i only ate one spoon size piece that actually had meat on it. We pretty much paid $28 dollars for two orders of vegetable soup and rice. I feel like if they didn't have what they needed to make a proper caldo de "Res" and I stress the Res part, they could of told us they couldn't make the order and I would of gladly ordered something else. That is poor quality of food and...
