I gave this place 5 stars because EVERYTHING I had was REALLY GOOD. Here's my reasoning. Some restaurants may have a few items that are great, a few that are pretty good and a few that you will never order again. I had the tri-tip and it was sliced thin, exactly how I like it. I asked for hot sauce and the young man at the counter asked, "Have you eaten here before?" He suggested a 50/50 combination of their regular and hot sauces and it was perfect for me. There are dozens, probably hundreds, of recipes for baked beans. The same is true for potato salad. After trying these items at some places, I've asked myself, "What were they thinking...?" When I tried Best's beans I thought, "Oh, yeah, they got these right!" The potato salad was equally good, it reminded me of my mom's. Judging from others' reviews, it's hard to go wrong, no matter what you order. I would have to agree. I'm looking forward to...

Went out to Santa Paula today… Driving around just checking things out… saw the smoke... drove by... caught a whiff of that BBQ smell and HAD to check it out. GAWD...! Really good. Beef rib wasn't that meaty but tender. Tri tip was perfect. Pork ribs were great. Bbq sauce tangy and original tasting. 👍🏽👍🏽 Chili Beans were excellent not spicy. Mac salad and potato salad tasted freshly made. Bread was perfect. It's a local SP joint for sure. Every other customer the staff knew them. It looks like a dive from the outside. But the aroma will get you in. Seriously. Reminded me of old school cook out bbq food. I will take the 25 minute drive from Oxnard and go there again next time I'm in the mood for good tasting bbq. If I had a choice between Best BBQ and Wood Ranch? We’re going to Santa...
Read moreDrove from Bako to Oxnard and pre-ordered 8 plates of food from here for our last day together. Everyone raved about how yummy their food was. Warning....hot sauce mean HOT. I ordered a veggie bowl with chix and hot links. I was drooling over my colleagues plates who ordered the tri tip sandwich. Trip # 2 on 7/26 (3 weeks later) Drove past here on my way to take some of this yumminess to my parents in Bako for their Anniversary (been talking this place up to them)...not sure what happened today. Links weren't their usual plump self, tri tip a bit on the dry side....no signs of pink like in the past. Very well done...good flavor though. Baked beans...omg they were awesome!! I'll definitely return. Glad I bought extra bread...tri tip sandwich tomorrow. Oh and P. S. remember to cut that tri tip...
