Not going back! This place calls itself a deli and "Cookie Company" on their store front signage. My husband is a huge cookie fan, so he was very excited to find this place nearby.
We went in at lunch time and it was nearly empty, one person seated, already dining. No one at the counter.
My husband was dismayed that in their long glass "cookie case", there were only THREE cookies! But, he was very happy to see that they were his favorite oatmeal and raisin!! Really?! A "Cookie Company" with THREE cookies in the middle of the day?!
We walked up to the counter to order and we're met by a straight faced, middle aged woman, who didn't waste time on pleasantries. We said we'd like to order sandwiches, but needed just a few seconds, being our first time there. We were guickly glancing over the menu above her head to see what their "specialty sandwich" might be, when she leaned around us to ask the woman who JUST walked in what SHE wanted... BEFORE taking our order.
The woman replied that she hadn't seen the menu yet, so don't know yet, but then feeling pressured, the woman glanced over and spotted the three cookies and said "Just give me all those".
She then proceeded to check out the customer with my husband's three cookies!!! Leaving us standing there waiting to order. We should have walked out right then. Instead we split a sandwich, and ate quickly while steaming over her rudenss.
The sandwich was just okay and nothing to make it worth going back after our experience there.
They need to take down the "Cookie Company" sign and hire decent help and if that woman was Ulia herself... It's...
Read moreJulia, the owner of Julia's Delicatessen catered a Greek night dinner for members of the Petaluma Woman's Club in November 2021. We ordered the Greek Feast which offers both a chicken and pork souvlaki, spanakopita, seasoned rice, village salad, taziki, pita bread and a Greek soda. Everything was delicious! Portions were generous. The spanakopita really stood out and tasted exactly like that I have enjoyed in Greece. Members expressed their appreciation for the superior meal which made the evening feel as though we were transported to Greece. Julia and her staff were very easy to work with - friendly and amicable. Tax, tip and delivery is charged at an additional fee and so worth it. The delivery person was pleasant. She arrived at the designated time, hand-delivered the trays to the kitchen and gave us instructions on how to keep the food warm for a later serving time. Just incredible service! I would highly recommend Julia's Delicatessen to cater your...
Read moreVisited for the first time a few days ago. Had the whole wheat pancakes, veggie omelette, a chili cup and the English biscuit. The English biscuit was delicious. It was buttery and it had a parmesan cheese flavor. I adored it even though my brother did not. The omelette was very tasty. It had a good variety of vegetables. The packages lacked a little flavor, but they were moist enough. They had a good amount of blueberries. The chili tasted okay. The beans were a little too hard, and it the sauce lacked some flavor. Not too bad.
The service was great. The waitress was friendly but not overbearing. Our beverages were always kept in check in case we wanted more.
A good atmosphere to eat and chat away. It was sunny that day, so the sun hit through the windows just slightly.
It was a pleasant...
