Super disappointed with this place. We go to the Christmas chute every year and last year we went in for the first time just for dessert. They were fantastic and when I told my parents about it, they went and said the food (especially the chicken fried steak) was amazing. We made a reservation and waited patiently over an hour (we were early, bad on us) for our table. We sat down and were greeted with a menu with FOUR dinner items on it for their “holiday menu”. I have no clue what is so “holiday” about it but super disappointed there. Ordered the 3 Cheese BAKED mac n cheese STARTER (sorry to mistaking the STARTER as an appetizer). A while later out comes one of the staff with the SADDEST looking NON BAKED Mac n… wait… noodle water possible, and sits it in front of my girlfriend. I say I don’t think that was correct and the staff asked if we had the chicken? No we hadn’t even ordered yet. I asked if that was the appetizer Mac n cheese and she said no. So she takes it back. So our waitress comes back and says, “So you didn’t order the Mac n cheese?” I replied, “Was that the appetizer?” In disbelief. She said yes and came back out with the cold sad noodle plate. I tried one noodle, and personally I do not consume pork (no not religious reasons, just preference) and bacon makes me nauseous. What do you know? Surprise appearance from bacon in the sad noodle cheese water non baked mac, as not stated. That was it for me. My girlfriend about gagged when we tried it. I asked for the ticket because as you see from other reviews about this “holiday menu” it is horrible with only 4 items and they can’t even get the 4 right. Guessing the 4 is on warmers in the back so they can get people in and out as quick as possible. Plates walking by us looked terrifying and I was double done. The wait staff was clueless, but they get a star for being nice. Took a cool while to get my ticket for the Mac n soup, but she asked if we wanted it taken off and I told her i would pay. BUT she brought just a paper ticket and said goodbye. I thought we went up to the counter and she said we pay at the table and couldn’t take my money. I was just standing there clueless. Finally paid on my phone with the QR code on the ticket and left.
Reading MOST RECENT reviews as we left people seem to leave great reviews about the lunch and dislike the holiday menu and the items on it. I would say, if it is around dinner time, go eat elsewhere and go try their cakes. They are excellent. Super sad and disappointing to have this happen after hearing the raves last year. Also super disappointing to have a menu that makes a small wedding menu look like a plethora of items. 4 items and some Mac and they can’t even do that.

Read moreI really want this place to thrive. I truly do. Me and my wife have given Crossroad Cookery several chances. 5 to be exact. And everytime we’ve gone is just been disappointing. Cosmetically the restaurant is perfect wouldn’t change a single thing. The wait staff are kind and very good. And it’s not their fault because they’re not cooking they’re serving. But the food is just…..bad especially for the price you’re paying. Steaks are bland and flavorless, and obviously very processed, you can make way better steak at home for cheaper. The cheese curds, are obliviously frozen cut up mozzarella cheese sticks soaked in jalapeño juice before frying, the lasagna is burnt, the chicken piccata is just weird and dry as a bone, the smash burger is the same, flavorless, and dry as a bone, the drinks from the bar are just pure alcohol. Might as well just hand me a shot at that point. I have no idea who they have in that kitchen cooking the main courses and coming up with the “recipes” but they need to go back to the drawing board and start completely over. You’d expect a menu being so small that they’d have only fresh unfrozen ingredients made to order. There was a little restaurant right down the street from crossroads called ‘My Table’ and the food there was perfect. Fresh home cooked southern comfort food just like grandma use to make. Rotating menu and it was priced perfectly.the lady that owned it wasn’t trying to get rich she wanted to see you get a good meal and be happy. When you sit in Crossroad it looks like you’re already sitting in grandmas house by the decor. But why am I not served grandmas food!? The kind of food that sticks to your bones and makes you feel full and happy and warm, fresh, packed with flavor. It feels like crossroads packs the drinks with pure liquor so you can’t taste the flavorless, dry, plate of food. Sapulpa is one of those towns that restaurants just do not last unless you make amazing food at a reasonable price. And it’s going to take a lot more than deep pockets to keep this open long term and get things done. If they don’t get their food quality and kitchen under control and start putting out a high quality product then Crossroad Cookery is going to be the the pit with the rest of the failed restaurants of Sapulpa. The California hipster menu just isn’t working for them. If you want a good burger good ol happy burger right around the corner will do ya just right and it’s the right price. Again I really want this place to succeed I truly do. I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But I can honestly say the owner needs to get control of that kitchen. And fast. Until then we won’t be back. And it’s sad because I like to support local I live right around the corner from...
Read moreWhat a treat to have found this place! I was out "adventuring" in Sapulpa from Broken Arrow to take in The Chute - a magical feast for the eyes and the soul - and I decided to treat myself to a lovely dinner once the crowds died down. My server, Melissa, was so wonderful! I ordered "Meat Me at the Crossroads" and asked Melissa what her favorite drink on the menu was. She explained in detail the flavor profiles of each specialty drink perfectly - I chose to order "When the Smoke Settles." Oh. My. Goodness. What a flavorful, superbly prepared meal and drink!! The sirloin was SO tender, the little potatoes and veggies were absolutely the right accompaniment! The drink was delicious and exactly what I was anticipating based on Melissa's description. As it was nearing the end of the evening, Melissa and I had the opportunity to chat a bit about this gem of a restaurant; I learned their business hired trained mixologists, baristas, and prep cooks, etc. to support the restaurant's services. From 3-5 p.m. you currently can only order appetizers because the kitchen staff are busily chopping fresh ingredients in preparation for the night's dinner service. The meat is supplied by a specific butcher. This attention to detail shows in every bite, every sip. For dessert, I availed myself of a ½ and ½ scoop of the scrumptious ice cream (Gelato maybe?) that lots of families were stopping in to get. They also have fabulous freshly baked goods available to purchase from a display case if a cold treat isn't to your liking. I also ordered a cup of coffee - this isn't your run-of-the-mill coffee from a Bunn restaurant coffee maker! It was smooth and freshly made. To top off the evening, the barista had some tasty hot cocoa leftover when she began cleaning up the coffee bar, so she offered a complimentary little cup to me and the other 2 dinner guests in the place at the time! I can't wait to visit...
