So my daughter kept raving about this place. She would show me pictures and I would say that's not in Sapulpa. Well I promised I would take her after a birthday party we went to in Sapulpa. It sucks that there is so much construction blocking or confusing the way to get there. I was on an adventure to find this place. So park on the south side of Dewey which is the main street that goes downtown Sapulpa, on Water street. Then you have to walk around the corner to the little store. It was small but very clean. The menu seemed like a lot, but it gives you choices in the middle of directions of how to order. Its hand made fresh made fish shaped waffle cones and little waffle shaped fish. You can get them filled with different creamy fillings or just plain. You can smell the waffle as soon as you walk in the door. My daughter went straight for the Berry shelf. It was your flavor of icecream with little taiyaki in it and on it, topped with fresh strawberries and bananas and Nutella. I chose the banana cream icecream. My wife got a fish topped cup with custard in the taiyaki pineapple icecream with Biscoff cookie and gummy sharks. The icecreams tasted good. The texture reminded me of some water based Gelato or like those little pop up frozen yogurt places like peach wave. It wasn't a creamy braums or custard. But it was still good and flavorful. I kept nibbling on it. It was very good. The workers were super nice. It didn't feel like it took very long for them to construct this icecream art. It was fun watching them do every part of the process. I was watching what other people bought to figure out what I want to try for next time. I...
Read moreAfter having taiyaki in Hawaii, I was pleasantly surprised to find a similar place near Tulsa (in Sapulpa)! I was warned ahead of time about the construction going on so it might take a few more steps to reach the shop but it is definitely worth it. They offer multiple soft serve flavors and a few specials every month. The inside has seating and is decorated nicely. The service was great- I think the owners are twins? They will let you try samples too. I tried the lemon whip (GF/V) and Ube (GF) which were excellent.
I felt like they purposely blessed me by launching their Ube flavor on the day I went. I was really hoping they would have Ube but had not seen it on any other previous posts. I got the Taiyaki upside down (you can also use the Taiyaki like a cake cone) in a cup. I topped it with mochi and fruity pebbles (my froyo go-tos). My friend got the special which had reef in the name with the baby Taiyaki (so cute). They can do two flavors stacked if they are not the swirled ones. They clearly mark any allergens which is handy. Highly recommend this place for an authentic Japanese sweet! I will definitely be back.
They also have açaí bowls available but didn't get a chance...
Read moreWe (me and my wife) drove here from OKC. We had seen the videos on Instagram and had a high expectation for their ice creams. It was Christmas Eve! The store was flooded with people , a line of people outside waiting to get in.
First about the store: No bathroom available due to “clog”. You would guess such an overrated place on social media would keep bathroom service up and running. It was cold out I needed to go to washroom and also wash my hands ! But alas !
Second about the service:
The long line would worth it if it was for a quality product ! I could totally wait even longer wait (it took 45 minutes to get to put an order for mango pomegranate icecream and another 45 minutes to receive it). But the quality was disappointing! The service was tooooooo slow! Girls behind the bar clearly did not have enough idea about what they are doing😢. I could see they are pacing around confused 😕
Third about the quality of the ice cream:
It was disappointing, the fish was made of pancakes! No real waffles the taste was far from our...
