Not my first time at Freeway Cafe, but my first at this location, and man oh man they did NOT disappoint!!! I was with a group of well over 25 (yeah I know! A LOTTA FOLKS😂) we had a main server, one that took care of just our drinks, and then, about three that brought out our food. Our main server, I wish I had gotten her name, was AWESOME!!! She was definitely on point! She had everyone's order correct, made sure we had all of our condiments, my mom and I had to wait just a few for our butter and jam so she even offered to bring out fresh toast for us since ours had gotten a little cold before she could bring it out. They made sure to stay on top of everyone's refills of drinks and brewed fresh coffee. And I know I've mentioned it before but our main server was an absolute gem, she was kind, attentive, had a smile on her face, and was just an all around JOY! There was also a young man that was part of our serving crew that was also attentive to our needs and made sure all was taken care of when our food was served. Definitely a location I wouldn't mind visiting again. The food was great! Which is to be expected from Freeway Cafe. I had the western omelet and it was made just how I wanted. My hashbrowns were over cooked, but our server had no problem having them remade and they were out in less than five minutes, steaming hot,...
Read moreIf I could leave negative stars I would! The absolute worst service I have ever had. If anyone would have checked to see if our food was ok this post wouldn't be here. First the good my onion rings were great! I also had a cheese stake on a hoagie roll. When I picked up the sandwich I could tell the brand on one end was way too hard to bite thru so I cut it off because I don't like to complain. But when I bit into the sandwich the bread was very stale I thought maybe if I add mayo but of course no one came to ask if we needed anything to fill our drinks check on food nothing so I added the ranch that came with my onion rings did not help it tasted old and nasty so I took the meat off the bread. After we finished all the food we could actually eat someone finally came and tried to give us more drinks I said no thank you explaining they should check their bread because it needs to be thrown away she said ok I will tell them no apology nothing finally get a check go to pay they ask how it was I said awful they told me my total. I paid full price with nocomplaint even the $3 up charge for my onion rings which was the only thing I could eat. If someone had checked I would have asked for some new bread fixed it myself and I would not be leaving...
Read moreEDITED** The last few times we stopped in I thought perhaps they were short staffed. Okay I get that.. 1st time we didn't have a assigned server. It was whoever decided we needed assistance. The 2nd time we had a overworked server who just didn't have time to take care of us. The 3rd time... The LAST TIME.... WE decided to keep it simple. Cobbler and coffee for us, a single egg and fruit cup for the baby, my daughter ordered a chicken fried steak sandwich with fries. We didn't get a straw for her drink, no offer for cream for the coffee, and the kid who took our drink order stomped off before we could even ask for a highchair. It's at this point that I am wondering who my server is and i flagged down a few ladies to ask about a highchair for the baby.
Not a single refill..... I had to find my own highchair after asking for it several times... And none of the food served until the drinks were completely gone! Have you ever attempted to eat cobbler with nothing to drink??? They decided to give me my coffee free (2 cups that sat empty for the better part of an hour) when we asked for to go boxes. Yeah, I have an hour and a half drive home on an empty stomach. Thanks...
