China Chef Restaurant — Restaurant in Saraland

Lady taking order over phone barely understands English and act as if I was speaking a new language. I ordered an orange chicken and shrimp fried rice. Had to order separately since they don't do combination plates or so I was told, but when I looked at the menu, they do serve combination plates. My total was $ 20 for 2 items. The orange chicken tasted like general tso chicken and the chicken itself tasted like ends and pieces of chicken. I didn't bite into 1 piece of solid chicken. Kept biting into pieces of chicken and chicken skin. The shrimp fried rice was basic. Had to layer it with soy sauce because it had no flavor in it. Never ate here and never will again. My go to Chinese place was closed at the time so I went here off...

The restaurant is not the same as it was many years ago. It has changed. The food is halfway decent if you compare it to other Chinese restaurants. The atmosphere is not really great. It could use a little cleaning. However, The customer service is not welcoming at all. They do not greet the customers with respect and warmth. They have a young teenage boy there that is extremely rude and very different when it comes to the patron. He clearly shows that he does not want to be there, nor does he care about the customers or the job so he shouldn’t be upfront because it is tempting me not to come back. Overall, it was a big disappointment and they need to change and get him off the register before he ruins...

Okay I am from Columbia South Carolina where Chinese food is usually pretty much very good where ever you go! But this was unacceptable I drive trucks for a living stuck in Alabama right now to get food, I got bourbon chicken which looks NOTHING like the picture they have on display! It’s extremely dry and has a weird smell to it! I knew the food would be bad when I ate the egg roll and it was small, dry and had no flavor! So I can only eat the Yellow rice (which is NOT traditional Chinese fried rice!) I had to separate the rice from the bourbon dog chicken in order to be able to eat the rice! I am extremely disappointed as it is very hard to find good food on the road please don’t waste your money on...
