First off to make sure...I was at the Baskin Robin's across from walmart off 53rd street in Bradenton. It was a little before 3pm on Sunday January 7th. This is second time trying to do a review. I wrote 1st one for location I was at but once I was done writing it kicked me off without allowing me to leave review. I live in Sarasota so I'm not Familia with this area. I was walking waiting for bus and needed a plastic spoon for something I had ordered somewhere else previously but did not want to be rude so I thought I'd order something. I saw the banana split sign and instantly had a taste for one. I tried to order one but was told "sorry, we don't have those right now". I was very confused and wondered what part they didn't have. So I figured they were being lazy but didn't want to argue so i just thought "whatever " and I asked for a scoop of ice cream. The woman told me "the ice cream we have is right here" pointing to showcase cooler in front of me. I grabbed a spoon n left. Just ridiculous. Still shocked. There were no customers the entire time I was waiting on my ride(to be truthfull someone pulled into drive thru as my ride pulled up. It was a woman probably late 40's Caucasian and a male maybe late 20's and African American. Just amazed. Why are they even open. Why not get ice cream from another store. Why not do your job. I called this location (which is a 40 min drive round trip for me) to find a very specific flavor for my mother. She used to get Baseball Nut with my grandfather before he died, so I wanted to call and ask if they had any available so I could gift it to her in a pint. When I called and asked about if they had the flavor, the representative said, “We’re slammed right now, I don’t really have time to talk.” This is completely unacceptable considering I would have been happy to hold or call back at a less busy time. Read moreYou might want to install cameras or check the integrity of your employees. My boyfriend was just in there to order ice cream for us. He came back & said it was an "interesting" experience. I had given him 3 gift cards I had, to use for the purchase. He said the 2 employees kept telling him that it would be cheaper to pay by cash. What?? Allegedly, they tried to run the gift cards & told him all 3 were expired or had zero balance. This is BS, as evidenced by my photos that I have saved from checking the balances tonight.
