I live less than 3 mins from this location and mostly go there just for concrete mixers although I also buy food on occasions... Last night was MY LAST VISIT TO THIS PLACE BECAUSE OF YOUR STAFF'S LACK OF COSTUMER SERVICE SKILLS... I have nothing against hiring young people, but if your going to do so you need to TRAIN THEM!!! I've been to places were I am served by teenagers and their service is stellar... On all of my visits to Culver's at Univerisity Pkwy they have either made me wait a ridiculous amount of time for my order, gotten my order wrong or just lacked respect in their treatment. Last night, Fri 3/18/17 your drive through employee (white lady, not as young as others I've been served by) gives me a number to put on my windshield after I ordered a croncrete mixer. I thought that was odd because other times I just had to wait at the window since it really doesn't take that long to put together... She didn't say a word so I asked do I just wait here with the number? and she just point out at one of the lanes (#2 I think), so I go and park there even though it was just around 8:30 pm and there was one car waiting in lane 1 and another one behind me... Over 5 mins later, the same window lady comes out with a bag??? and starts asking "Did you ordered such and such?" (No mam', no excuse me, no manners what so ever) So I decided to set the example and answer HER QUESTION with a "No mam'" , at that point I started to get nervous about having to wait longer out there at night as I don't think it's safe, anyways when I answered her question with a negative this pointless and rude lady says to me "Honey you need to park on the lane" and points further ahead... I then replied: "But why would you make me wait far out here for a concrete mixer?.. I always get it served at the window" and she's starts looking around like if you finally realized what I has asked for and goes again with the "Honey, we make everyone wait out here" at that point I was ready to ask her to stop calling me honey and call the manager or to give me my money back, when a younger girl came out with my mixer handed to me politely and said "Enjoy", takes the number out of my car and since the other employee was still out there pointless as to who had ordered whatever was in her bag, the younger one asked me if I had ordered something else to which I replied "NO" and drove away.
I have been at the Culver's off of SR 70 and granted I've had to wait a few minutes for orders with more items than a mixer... Their costumer service and treatment are way superior than your employee's at University. Therefore, I've made the decision of NO LONGER SPONSOR THIS LOCATION when in need of a cold treat... It is a shame because like I said I live at walking distance from their, but I am a professional and I will not tolerate being disrespected by some airheads and having to wait at an unsafe dark parking lot for a mixer...
BASKING ROBBINS/DUNKIN or MENCHIE'S ARE JUST 1 MINUTE AWAY!!
PS. Needless to say I am giving this Culver's 1 star because ZERO is NOT...
Read moreThe employees here are outstanding! After my debate tournament ended, we had an after-party here. This means that there were dozens and dozens and dozens of people in line. This superfluous amount of people squishing together in the line, which lead way back into the dining room, which itself was full, could have seemed overwhelming at the VERY least; but not for the girl up front! There was ONE employee taking orders at the front. ONE. SINGLE. PERSON taking DOZENS of orders without stopping. Not only was she quick, she took every order (that I saw) with kindness and patience.
I don't know how the menu really is. All I had was a mint shake and one french fry that my friend shared with me. The fry was pretty dang good. I will say, the shake was not mixed together very well (the same with my friends shakes) but that is expected as there was nobody to fill in the position of bagging that I could see, so someone had to have been bagging + drinks + shakes + delivering food all at the same time. I could see about 3 maybe 4 people total up front (including the drive through, which was busy) so they obviously had to multitask like general grevious but if he had 8 light-sabers.
I could see the back of house and even with the dozens of people, they kept their screens clear.
I don't remember anyone's name because I never asked. I think one giving out orders was "Montana" or something but I'm not sure. They were all very kind and they weren't short or impolite dispte the fact that they were short-staffed and the restaurant was packed like a can of sardines.
I don't know how much these people get paid, but they deserve some kind of raise, bonus, or reward for their impeccable service.
I hope the store operator or manager sees this. I'm not trying to be nice or compliment anyone necessarily; I am just trying to be objective. Maybe I just feel bad for them because they had to go through that big "rush," if you want to call it that; but it's over now and it is an objective fact that they did an...
Read moreI've been here a few times, and unfortunately I can't say any of the visits have been great. The first time, we ordered meals and substituted shakes for the soft drinks. The staff specifically asked if we wanted our shakes with the meals, and we specifically said yes, because they were replacing our drinks. A few minutes after sitting down, our shakes were brought out, and our table number taken away. We assumed the meals were right behind the shakes since we asked to get them all at the same time, but that was not the case. After waiting a few minutes, we had to return to the counter to ask where our food was. Apparently they completely forgot about it since the order was marked complete after they brought out the shakes and took away our number. So we had to wait longer to get the food. Our shakes were melting or mostly gone by the time our meals actually came out. Pretty disappointing.
On a separate visit, the order came out much more smoothly, but they didn't bring any flatware, and they don't keep any by the drink/condiment station, so it required another trip back to the counter.
On a third (and probably last) visit, the meals came out OK, and we decided to get concrete mixers after finishing the meals. For something sold as "thick frozen custard," these came out to our table a melty, runny, drippy mess, like a milk shake that's set out too long. Really disappointing.
On no occasion has the food ever wowed me at this location. I've been to Culver's in other states, where it was actually a treat to dine, so it might just be lousy service at this...
