Cantina-style seating but without a bar to stand at like most Clint Eastwood Westerns....still nice though. Family run and owned. Huge portions.... you'll take some home....Look at that burrito... Fork for scale. Yes, loaded with Steak front to back. Bite sized too, not 5" chewy strips. Just steak: no rice inside, no beans inside either. 3 meals from the Sizzling Chicken Fajitas. T H R E E. All platters not overly salty, but not bland either. Excellent, courteous and friendly servers....they cover one another because they said so. You will feel welcomed the moment they greet you at the front door. Limited seating so if you have a large group give them the heads-up when you plan on coming down. Thanks a lot. Nice to see ya. Thanks for coming down. How many guys you want?

I went last Friday for the first time. I ordered the 2-item meal, a cheese and spinach enchilada. The salsa that came with our pre-meal chips was a little spicy & watery but good. My main course had a roja sauce that was a little watery as well, nothing special. The refried beans did not disappoint though. Overall, the atmosphere is lacking. Perhaps because this place is new. Plenty of hip people were there, but I have to say, I wasn't blown away. It's a pretty fair Mexican restaurant, as far as the ones I've been to in Sarasota go. However, I would still prefer Mi Pueblo or Two Senoritas considering the pricepoint here.

Probably will return Hearty home cooked food. Tight door. The confetti (?) from the ceiling make the room looks like a kiddie party. The west facing front has shades, which makes the small hall dark. But it maybe necessary: we sat at the last table facing the door. Every time the door opens I need to readjust my eyes. Heavy-duty corn chips are good. Thin stem; steaming hot food. Good service. Large portion. We’ve - Mariscada Azteca - Carne a la Mexicans Both are steaming hot and yummy. Teppanyaki (?) makes the room smoky.

Went around 4pm Place was empty and I was glad. Figured we would get even better service and the food would be out fast. I’m the first one in with my family behind me and I see my waitress standing by the counter and making a face of O’No Customers. I laughed it off because I know that face, I’ve worked retail. As we all walked in she walked away from the counter and didn’t greet us , that wasn’t cool but ok there could be something going on. We sat ourselves. I had to get our menus from the counter. When she came to the table she seem nice but had a hard time clearly explaining what came with the plate we ordered. We asked for a certain item and she said they can do that so we ordered 3. When the food came out it’s wasn’t like we were told and when I asked she caught an attitude, spoke over me so I stop talking and then she said “they don’t make it that here” and I’m like but we talked about it and you said sure no problem. When the food came out 3 plates came with thing we didn’t want and I was to hungry to complain lol she never came to ask us if we needed more drinks. One family member didn’t get her food when we did because it was put in wrong or the cook did something because I saw and heard her tell the cook that’s not what what she ordered. It was just an overall bad experience and the food wasn’t great at all. I wanted to try it and I’m glad I did just to get the place out of my list of places I wanted to try. There’s some places I deal with the service not being so great because the food is good but no one finished their food. I notice an older waitress came out the back and sat down to fold napkins and greeted customers as they walked in. You know I wasn’t going to tip the waitress at all because of the whole Yeah we have that and then tell us after we get our food that they don’t but I still tipped just because she could have kids at home. I’ve been to plenty of Mexican restaurants before and the food presentation looks great and delicious but looked better then what it taste ,just isn’t up to par. I see it has great reviews from others so go ahead try the place out and judge...

Last night was the worst restaurant experience we have ever had. We ordered two seafood dishes and when they came to our table, right away I noticed a horrible stench of my dish as it was placed in front of me. I narrowed it down to the fish that was in my dish - something was horribly wrong with it. The other dish, had lobster covered with shrimp. After one bite of the lobster, she said it tasted like chlorine or something. I cut a section out of the middle, took a small bite and it wasn’t right, smelled it and it blew me away. It smelled like ammonia. The food was spoiled without a doubt. We stopped eating, asked for our waiter. We told him very quietly something was wrong with our dishes and we could not eat them. He asked if we wanted a togo box. What?!?! No, the food is spoiled and we are afraid we will be sick. He asked if we wanted something else and we politely said no. He then proceeds to tell us we will still have to pay for the meals. Two meals which we did not eat and were spoiled. He said when this happens he has to call his manager-owner and she will make us pay. We said this was unacceptable and we will pay for everything but these dishes. Another waitress then comes by and asks us what was wrong, we told her same thing and she said there is no way. The cook would not serve bad food and that she would go taste and smell it herself. She never returned. The owner then walks in the door and after a few minutes comes to our table. Again very quietly we tell her what was wrong and without even being able to finish she starts yelling and pointing us out the door. She says “GET UP YOU WILL JUST LEAVE AND YOU WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE” No worries about that one - we will never come back to this establishment. We understand things happen and we meant no disrespect, but a customer should not be made to pay for a spoiled dish of food, especially one they...

Horrible service. The food probably is what gets this place 4.5 stars. Family of 8 hungry and waiting. The hostesses told us to wait until the table became ready they would put “two tables together or we could sit 4/4”. All of a sudden a Latino a family came in speaking Spanish and magically they had our table our kids were already standing by. I have never experienced this kind of discrimination in Sarasota being a black person at a “MEXICAN” restaurant. We were THEN told “ Oh they were waiting outside”. The Latino family obviously came after us they even parked after we did. We had “looks” over a parking space so we know when they arrived-after us. The hostess then proceeds to say “Oh they were waiting before you (not making eye contact with us) and now you have to wait” as they continues their the spaniel banter. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted with dirty looks from the other Latino patrons, even though there were other nationalities dining. We knew there was going to be a problem. However because we were excited to try something different in our neighborhood we ignored the stares. I have been so humiliated in my life m a restaurant. We are Christian believers and the God in us decided not to cause a scene due to the harsh treatment we received. The back and forth Spanish with the arm folded angry Latino woman and the lack of attention to us who was promised a table was unnecessary. I am very sad and hate my Children had experience this kind of racism in 2019. I wish I didn’t have have to leave one star to post this review. THEY GET ZERO !!! Do better...
