People are real about their issues... whether it’s about an addiction to drugs, alcohol or whatever. It’s faith-based but not like a typical 12-step group. Everyone’s welcome and no one is judged, whether they live on Longboat Key or the street, we’re all just a bunch of messed-up people who come together to love each other and God and work on recovery. Everyone may be in a different place in their relationship with Christ and that’s okay. If you can’t find someone you trust to watch your child, bring them. They play with the other kids by the TV in the corner in the same room. But know that this a real nitty-gritty meeting and language flies. Using the Lord’s name in vain is forbidden, but almost anything else goes. To some people, curse words are just part of their vocabulary right now. God will show them better, not me. If that’s a problem for you and you’re offended, this might not be for you. But if you’re looking for a real, down-to-earth, right-where-you’re at meeting, this is worth checking out.
