I was impressed how pleasant the staff was, even though my friend was rather inebriated when she got there and was a bit rude. I was even more impressed when I learned that the bartenders were VOLUNTEERING their time and the whole place was not for profit. It was my first time there. I am visiting from NY. I wasn't there more than 15 minutes and was immediately greeted by friendly staff and customers. It was a very inviting atmosphere. And the price of drinks were more than reasonable. I would have paid double the price at a similar bar in NY. I had the extreme pleasure of visiting the Purple Rhino this evening. This Sunday evening was Bingo! It was fun and the patrons there made me feel welcome as did the staff from the minute i walked in he door. The drinks are very reasonable and someone actually brought pizza and homemade cookies. A true hidden gem in the Sarasota gay community I look forward to visiting...
