I go to Starbucks nearly every day. My coffee treat has kept me on track while losing about 50 lb. The friendly Baristas give me exactly what I ask for with a smile and great service every time. They are especially helpful around my physical disability, often, for example, bringing my coffee outside or putting it in a double cup so that I can wheelchair home without spilling anything. They've even tied my take-home coffee bags to the back of my chair. It is a great place to socialize where I am never rushed and always made to feel welcome. They offer a free shot on Mondays. It does have some drawbacks , however, for those who have disabilities: although the shop is technically accessible it is very small and cluttered. The bathroom itself is roomy but it's not easy to get to. The corporation could well afford a very necessary wider power door but as of this writing, it has made no effort to incorporate this or any other suggested accommodations. The chairs used to be comfy and accessible for us to transfer to but as of the last remodeling, every chair is wooden without any upholstery or cushions and therefore extremely uncomfortable especially for people with disabilities. One plus related to disabilities is indoor and outdoor tables which are high enough and which have no legs in the middle to allow wheelchairs...
Read moreTuesday, 10/26/21: Only one employee was wearing a mask in any capacity. The cashier and person making drinks were not wearing masks at all, nowhere on their persons, and talking regularly while making drinks (good communication is great in a workplace but not maskless during a pandemic, especially in food service).
They allowed a customer, assuming a regular, to drape herself over the counter and laugh boisterously about how they accidentally "ppppppput 16 pppumps into my cuppp!" This customer was entirely inattentive to the fact that she was liberally blowing air and spit through loosely sealed lips directly over the counter, directly into the drink-making area, at every emphatic, elongated "P" consonant.
It was almost comically unsanitary. Like a scene you'd find in a cartoon. We left my drink there, as it was being made during all this, not three feet from the jovial customer with no sense of restraint or situational awareness (and no employee intervening), not twenty inches from the baristas who were talking maskless over my drink while assembling it. We...
Read moreI took off my sunglasses to look the attendant in the eye, paid for what I bought, took 7 steps to get the order and when I went back to get my sunglasses that were on the counter, it was no longer there. It may have been an oversight on my part, but I didn't imagine that an employee could catch it in a matter of seconds, having security cameras. I asked them to see the security cameras, if they had seen it, I would have retrieved my glasses, the person was still inside. But they are not allowed to see. OK. There were 4 people inside the establishment, 1 attendant next to me when I removed my glasses and a man delivering boxes to Starbucks. Not for the price of being really expensive glasses, but because I need glasses to drive and I had to make a long trip after that without the glasses, and the review is to let them know that unfortunately there is an employee who may be taking other things. I hope that someone who took my glasses is happily wearing them. Put it to...
