UPDATE: I have been eating predominantly plant-based (mostly super healthy vegan fare) for the last few months, and if you’re into clean eating or looking for vegan fare, WON WON WOK can absolutely accommodate! They not only have menu items that fit my preferences, but they also will adjust any recipe to make it fit my needs. The owner loves veggies and eating healthy, so they always have a wide assortment of healthy foods to choose from! Try this place and get healthy in 2020!
My young grandkids, like many children, are seriously picky eaters, with their “short list” of acceptable foods when they eat out. The first time I brought them to Won Won Wok, I thought I was going to have major trouble... and they did too! 😬 However, it turns out that they ended up liking more of their “banned” foods than they (or I) ever thought they would! There are dozens of things they now suddenly ask mom for, such as egg drop soup, veggie fried rice, fried dumplings, lo mein noodles, fried shrimp, veggie egg rolls, and many others! It is their favorite place to eat when they stay over, and I try to incorporate as many healthy items as I can when we go there. As for my husband and myself, we both love the food here, and I’m not really crazy about Chinese food. My favorite menu item is the Hunan Shrimp, which I order with zucchini added to it and ask for it to be EXTRA-EXTRA spicy (Which means it’s about as spicy as medium salsa or a jalapeño popper at that point.) They don’t seem to know what spicy means, which is okay with me, because medium salsa is generally my limit for comfortable heat! 😉 So, aside from those of you who love fire breathing super-hot foods, this place could be a great Asian restaurant for most of you. I also love their egg drop soup and their fried dumplings, and a bunch of other yummy items! They have traditional American-Chinese cuisine, along with some really cool signature specials; Japanese tempura; house-made sushi (which I don’t eat, but have heard it’s the best in the area), and some odd items to find here, like hotdogs and fries for kids and deep fried chicken wings for the snacking adults. The food is yummy, the prices are reasonable, and the menu is extensive, and much of the waitstaff are really impressive and have photographic memories and sunny personalities, so it’s a great place to go for a date night out, or to accommodate the pickiest eaters...
Read moreWe used to love this place, but the past few times have been less than stellar. The crispy beef and orange chicken don't travel well for to go or delivery. We loved those dishes, but even sitting down, not nearly as good as what it used to be. And their bubble tea flavors were very watered down this past time.
Now, that's nothing I would write a review about, but since I'm writing this, I might as well get it all out there.
This past to go order (Monday), we decided to try it again, because the last time could have been just an off night. I got home and realized they have given us 2 fried rice, instead of 1 fried and one white. No biggie, but they didn't even include the noodles, which were an up charge ($1). Now I give them a call and the worker asked if I could come back, she's I said that wasn't feasible, as I would have to pack all my starving kids back up, and to drive 20 min, to and from, to just come home to come Chinese food that's already lack luster. She told me that her manager/owner isn't in that she would have them call me the next day to resolve it. Fast forward to today (Saturday). I realized I hadn't received a call back. I called, and one of the owners answered. I explained the situation and all she said is, "we already sent a refund." I told her that was ok, but I was expecting a call back, since her employee said I would have received a call days ago. She just informed me again that the refund was sent, and that it was $1.15... at this point I just was floored that they were only willing to refund me the $1 plus tax, not compensate that they completely missed a component of what you are paying for when you order an entree, and getting another component wrong. I just said ok and ended the...
Read moreOVERVIEW - 2.8 I will NEVER come back here again. I had a few negative experiences based off just one visits.
LOCATION - 4 I will give it the fact that it has a decent location that can been easily recognized from a moving vehicle.
PRICE - 3 The prices were just a touch more expensive then I would expect to pay for sushi.
PRODUCT/SERVICE - 2 We ordered the US, Philedelphia, and Crunchy California Sushis and one of those Maki plates. The weren't amazing, but weren't bad. The wifi didn't work, and as a result when we were ready to pay with a debit card, they informed us their internet wasn't working and we could write down our card number and all the details. I refused that option and had to go across the street to the ATM to withdraw cash. Any slight knowledge of Customer Service would be to tell the customer up front that there is an issue with the connection for Credit and Debit Cards and that for the evening they'd be taking cash, and nothing more. Not that hard!
POINTERS/PERKS - 3 Accidentally spill your water on the table, then they'll quickly clean it up, put you at another table, and the next customers that come in won't have a sticky table-top.
EMPLOYEES - 2 I will agree with the fact the waiter was friendly, then halfway through he switched with a young lady, which was also friendly. I have to say the guy emitted a smell of manure. I don't know if he was rolling around in manure behind the back, or didn't brush his teeth, but he smelt horrible, and made it hard for us to want to eat with...
