EDIT: I READ THE OTHER REVIEWS AFTER WRITING MINE. I'M GUESSING THE BARTENDERS NAME WAS DOMINIC AS OTHERS HAD PROBLEMS AS WELL. Apparently, the owner does not care that this man is so rude because negative comments have been made for months about him. Therefore, my rating is going down. Fix your problem and you will have a cool bar.

I love a fun dive bar!! I was traveling with 6 other women of mature age. We loved the bar, the jazzy juke box, and even the cash only rule was ok. Unfortunately, the bartender was so rude. I wish I had asked his name, long black hair....He was not only rude with us but also other customers. He would mimic them with unnecessary comments and gestures. We were having so much fun with the juke box and buying drinks! His comments, when we went up to the bar, eventually became offensive. We are a friendly group of women, but we had enough and told him. "You are so rude!" He then started making the motion like he was vomiting. Seriously? His lack of maturity, gestures, and comments were so offensive. We left the bar. Later, we ran into another couple who was at the Sand Bar when we were there. They were also disgusted by the bartender! In summary, the bar was awesome, but the bartender ruined the whole vibe. If I was the bar owner, I would definitely reevaluate putting this man behind the bar. He has NO business working around people. Again, I wish I had asked for his name. First and foremost we are a couple that likes little hinding gems 💎 in small towns, so we are walking around town and was like so excited to see this place all smiles walking into a dark rustic bar as we walked in my boyfriend looked at me and said this is it let's have a drink with a big bright smile on his face 😀 as I walked up looking at the bar for a seat the bartender male with long dark hair looks at us and says cash only, I smiled and said no problem I have cash but there was no seats at the bar and I wanted to find a table to set my things down to walk back up to order this rude bartender then says we'll are you even ordering a drink mind you I'm not even to the table yet my boyfriend looks at me and says let's go ....Not sure if your the owner or the bartender that day buy you have very rude manners and customer services. I've been in the industry for along time and ran a bar myself , my boss told me the first thing you see in a place is the way you greet your guest and you never know what that person is going through in life. Everything about this bar is a negative 10,000. We came here as a late night spot after a LGBTQ wedding and were subjected to homophobic comments and passive aggression from both the staff and the local patrons. I’d like to add that this was a wedding of 180 people, we brought an incredible amount of revenue into the bar and they waited until closing time to be hateful and disrespectful. I’m disgusted and appalled by the behavior I witnessed. To benefit off of the most important day in two people’s lives and then commit a hate crime is insane and the opposite of why we chose to come to Saugatuck to celebrate.
