Cilantro’s Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Saugus

I really hate to be that person, but I can’t ignore being lied to—especially over $2. I’m not someone who typically writes reviews, but this is the second bad experience I’ve had here, and I feel compelled to say something.

Let me start by saying: the food is absolutely amazing. No complaints there—it’s consistently delicious, and I’ve always enjoyed the flavors.

But unfortunately, the service and management leave a lot to be desired.

First issue: A while back, I placed a large order for my visiting family. Two items were missing, and when I called to let them know, I was met with skepticism—“Are you sure they’re missing?” Of course I was sure. Why would I call otherwise?

Second issue (today): I ordered 2 birria quesadilla for my wife and me. The menu screen clearly listed it at $12.50, but I was charged $13.49. I asked the cashier, who brought someone else over, and that person told me the lower price is “without consommé.” We all know that’s not true. It felt like a weak excuse to justify the price difference—and frankly, it came across as dishonest.

If $2 is worth more to the business than a loyal local customer, that says a lot. For me, trust matters more than a couple of dollars, and sadly, I won’t be coming back.

Again, the food is excellent—but management needs serious...

Decided to try Cilantro’s on take out last week. Ordered a quesadilla, chipotle chicken salad bowl, chips and salsa. Order site said food would be ready in 15 min (@6:15p). Arrived at 6:20 - there were several customers in dine in queue waiting to order, one in the pick up area being told there would be a delay. His order came out 5 min later. Manager told me same thing - my order came out at 6:35. So i suggest when you get the order ready time probably double it. The quesadilla and salad bowl were both fresh, delicious, and made to order. Also regarding delay, I felt they prioritized in store and door dash drivers over regular on line orders - but could just be my luck. They have a small seating area for dine in. The food and prices are good so I will definitely be ordering again - but giving them more time before...

The food is incredible. I got a shrimp burrito and everything in it was of great quality. There were plenty of shrimp, and everything was properly distributed so you got all the ingredients in one bite. The salsa is delicious. My dad got a chicken quesadilla which he loved. And my partner got a beef burrito that she also loved. The queso is delicious, but our ONLY complaint is that there is not enough queso for what you pay for. I’m glad I got 2, because that was just barely enough for the 3 of us. The container it was in says it’s 3 1/4 oz. (Most places we go to give about 6-7 oz of queso). I beg this incredible restaurant to provide more queso. But regardless of queso quantity, this is food to obsess over. Cilantro’s will be our new Mexican spot we’ll be going to...
