I visit Canes pretty regularly, and Iāve never had such a frustrating and unprofessional experience at a fast food restaurant.
I ordered two box combos and a 3-piece combo with BOBād bread. After waiting about 15 minutes, an employee came to confirm the name on the order. Five minutes later, they asked us to pull around the building with no explanation. We declined and asked to speak to a manager because no one was communicating what was going on. Itās chicken fingers, they sell one main item, it shouldnāt be that complicated.
Instead of a manager, they sent someone clearly pretending to be one. When we asked him what was going on with our order, he just nodded without answering. When we pressed him again, he shrugged and said, āItās not that deep,ā and walked away. That kind of dismissive attitude was unacceptable. He later returned to say the wait was due to needing to make a new batch of bread for the BOBād toast. That was clearly a lie, Iāve ordered this same thing many times and never waited over 30 minutes.
When I called him out for being dishonest, he came back with the food after a 35-minute wait and claimed he added extra chicken fingers, another lie. We still didnāt have our drinks. We asked for them and requested the actual managerās contact info. Only then, did the dweeb pretending to be the manager, get the real manager.
To his credit, the actual manager was professional, respectful, and honest about what happened. He owned the mistake, explained what went wrong, and handled things the way they shouldāve been handled from the start.
I understand that mistakes happen. But lying to customers, gaslighting them, and showing zero accountability isnāt acceptable, especially when a simple, honest conversation wouldāve made all the difference. I hope this location takes that to heart, because if it werenāt for the real manager, this experience wouldāve guaranteed I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to be crystal clear about something here: I do not think the staff of Cane's is responsible for this failure. They were courteous, more attentive than I expected, and I believe that they made everything exactly as they were trained to by the company. This is an indictment of Raising Cane's as a restaurant chain. I love fried chicken. In fact, I love every kind of food and drink Cane's exists to sell, and my standards for all of them are reasonable. Almost none of their versions are enjoyable. The lemonade somehow tastes completely devoid of any citrus. The fries are soggy crinkle cuts, barely on the level of frozen Ore-Ida. The Texas Toast might not qualify as Toast, let alone Texas, only buttered and grilled on one side. How hard is it to do both sides? If there was a saving grace, it was the sweet tea. It was passable, but you could get the same or better at any McDonald's in the area. None of it is more disappointing than the chicken. How can a chain be this famous without using seasoning? Not one tender out of four had a detectable trace of salt or pepper. Just breading, middling quality breast meat and frying oil. It only makes it more infuriating to look at the standard (only) dipping sauce they sell. It's good! It is punchy and visibly rich with pepper and spices. They know the spices are available, and not one made it on the chicken! Not one! And that is the entire menu. My combo had everything they sell, excluding a sandwich bun and fountain soda. All of this in a restaurant where the interior design seems to be themed on ironic, dishonest pandering to the locals. A pennant for a local high school's sports program on the wall. Multiple displays of the logo of the New England Revolution. Three disco balls for some reason? I was absolutely incredulous at the entire experience. People love Cane's. Why do they...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent to Caneās to grab an early dinner. Got there around 4pm. The parking lot set up was a little tight as the drive through line and the line to get into the parking lot are the same so I was left sitting at the entrance of the parking lot and the car behind me was in the breakdown lane of Rt1. Was able to get the last parking spot available (once the drive through line moved up). Cashier was very friendly and efficient. Food came quickly. We opted to get the food to go as we were not sure we would finish our meals. We ordered 4 of the 3 piece meals which came with 3 chicken fingers, crinkle fries, a toasted roll, and a fountain drink. The food was tasty but the chicken had a very greasy texture. Fries were good. They have a dispenser for ketchup but it was empty. I mentioned it to an employee who was standing next to me and he informed me he was on break. The soda cups were flimsy and the lids do not fit well. When my teenager picked up her cup in the car the cup squished and spilled all over her. The to go containers were also not great, once opened they would not close. Over all a mediocre experience. The food was reasonably priced but I was left over all...
