While within 10 miles of Boston"s Logan airport as the crow flies, calling this location an airport hotel is what I would call grossly misleading. Located in Saugus which is only served by MBTA bus lines by 10 minutes walk, if you happen to find this reasonably clean and inexpensive hotel arriving into Logan and think you've had great luck finding a hotel nearby to return to Logan, check your resources for getting to and from this hotel as the cost of a rental car, rideshare, OR the time catching a combination of either the T (MBTA subway) and busses and walking the last 10 minutes of Route 1 in Saugus (which does have a sidewalk), you will have offset the cost of a hotel either closer to the airport or near any MBTA T stop. However!! If you are careful, you can do as I did which was order a rideshare to a transit station on the Blue Line (you can also do Oak Grove too on Orange Line which is closest BUT the rideshare cost for me was just about the same AND the trip to the airport from Oak Grove is 50 minutes to Airport on the Blue Line versus only about 20 minutes or less from Wonderland. Direct rideshare from airport was around $40-60. Taking a rideshare from Wonderland and taking Blue Line to Airport saved me over $80 roundtrip with a generous tip for my rideshare driver and I got to airport in about 30 minutes. This is just my experience. The beds are comfortable, rooms are austure, but function. The noise is from Route 1 traffic which is non-stop. All. Night. Long. Plenty of parking if you do have your own car or rent one (again not recommended to/from Logan) if you arrive early and staff is extremely friendly professional and helpful. It's the noise and the location advertised as "airport"---You can see the old Hilltop Steakhouse sign from Route 1 from this hotel location. It isn't near Logan and I would be shocked if reviews were running in support of that descriptor. Yet and still, if you do find yourself here from Logan, don't despair! Comfortable beds won't break your back and otherwise clean and safe. I felt comfortable late...
Read moreI'm going to be perfectly honest because I people had been very honest about their review I may not have stayed here. The area is saugus a Good 30min to hour ride with traffic into Boston. The neighborhoods around here are very nice there's a target not far walmart block down street restaurant Kowloon next door and Dave's hot chicken on other side of hotel square one mall is across the street they have a food court. As previously stated the street hotel is on is EXTREMELY busy kind of like Vegas. You van not walk across street cars drive 80mph down street there's no lights just constant driving u literally have jump out in front of traffic. I can not underestimate how fast people drive in boston area or how busy this street is. There are nowhere to turn to get across the street u have to get off go around come down opposite side a lot of work. This hotel is very much transient soo many people live here they hang out n the lobby and outside in front of the building. Lots of dogs are at the hotel and the people who live there look at u like why are u here. There is free coffee from 6am to 10am but that's it no breakfast nothing. There is no washing services on site I would not say this is family friendly hotel The rooms are small the beds are double not queen they are not comfortable at all The tv is fixed on the wall not very big maybe 32 in but lots of channels The body wash shampoo is so tiny maybe .25 oz not enough 1 person to bathe Rooms do come with frig & microwave Boston hotels avg 500 a night so at 150 night good price Room had mildew smell airfreshner helped was clean Several guests loud not hotels fault The front desk ladies Venessa and Ana were beyond amazing kind informative I can not stress how wonderful they were I want best those ladies because are beyond great.
So if u need an affordable place 30 min plus outside town take your chances honestly I was gone everyday needed some place to sleep. Just giving...
Read morebed bugs and marijuana. My daughter and I checked in on Friday and on Saturday she was biten down her back from bedbug. I was able to capture the bug and seal it and bring it to front desk along with my pregnant daughter showing rep her back. She apologized and offered to move us to another room on the same floor. My daughter is a nervous wreck now and is keeping every light on the room. Which of course is causing me not to sleep. But the discomfort that my daughter is in is unbearable. The rep did say there was nothing that she can do but will inform her GM...Ms.VP. Who had another rep to call room to say Ecolab will come out to inspect the room and give me a report of any findings and if they find something she will reimburse my money. I was not provided an apology and the GM never knocked on door to meet my daughter, look at her back, and see how she is feeling. Well Wednesday I get a call from GM Ms.VP who says Ecolab pulled off the bed and they found nothing...I said that cant be true maybe they need to do a proper test and perhaps at night..she argued the fact at how trusted Ecolab is. I ended the call quickly, too tired to justify that I have proof and that I still have the bedbug sealed, that her front desk rep was trying to take from me. In addition to my daughter discomfort. The room we are now in smell of heavy marijuana at 12a I called front desk once again, and this time no apology just a very blunt, well I can move you. I told the rep that I suffer with Vertigo and its not ideal for me to move to ANOTHER room. She said its nothing they can do and upon check out housekeeping will smell the sheets and the cust..who been smoking will be fines $200, this 2 week vacation/stay has turned to a nightmare!!! I wanted to get points being a RediCard member but no one is caring or trying to rectify either situation, which have occured days apart. I will seek outside legal help, because no one here at RRI is hearing me out or trying to communicate to resolve...
