"Oishii" means delicious in Japanese, and it lived up to it's name. I really enjoyed this place, and I've been to Japan before, so I have a high bar for Japanese cuisine. Good atmosphere, polite staff, and good selection of food options without getting too overwhelming. The wait staff could use a little more education about their dishes, as they had a hard time answering questions, but their courtesy and attentiveness towards the customers make up for it. I went at a slow time, so my food came out very quickly. I ordered a miso ramen and takoyaki. I would reccomened the takoyaki to anyone who wants to try the dish for the first time, as the octopus has a very minor influence in their dish. This might be disappointing for some who would want bigger octopus chunks, but the dish itself had no taste problems. The consistency of the takoyaki was very good, crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside (and very hot! Careful!). The ramen came out shortly after and I was presented with a nice looking dish. Well rounded with balanced portions of chicken, noodles and various veggies. It was not steaming hot, but a nice warm "ready to eat" temperature. I have a smaller apitite, and these two dishes were far more than enough for me and would probably be enough for anyone else. I will return to this restraunt soon, as I am excited to try their "build your own" ramen option. Edit: I've since come back here several times and it has been amazing each time. This place is definitely now one of...

Excellent japanese cuisine restaurant. Not a lot of donburi places in the southern metro area. There’s a handful of ramen places and sushi places, but donburi is certainly a rare treat.

Upon entrance, I was greeted and seated. The atmosphere is quite cozy, with the restaurant being located in a strip mall so not the biggest, but it certainly makes do with its small space. There’s great decor and the walls are painted with reference to the Japanese culture. It’s very pleasant.

The food itself is also great, the plating is very elegant and tastes wonderful. Although I do want to mention that donburi does tend to taste the same (it’s a harder dish to mess up) in most places that offer it, so I will have to be back to try out more complex dishes like the ramen and give my thoughts on that. But, no complains with my beef donburi bowl for my first time. It was lovely.

The mochi ice cream they offer is a wonderful dessert. Not every place does their mochi ice cream right and I’m happy to say this place nails it. The mochi outer shell is wonderfully gooey and sweet and melts perfectly with the ice cream filling inside. Always a treat to have some mochi ice cream, even more so when it’s well done.

All in all, I will definitely be back to...

I left a hasty review right after eating, without being objective. This is my correction and apology to the staff.

The service was excellent, there's no getting around that. The staff was very attentive and the food came quickly. You know they work hard to maintain a good reputation, they'd even responded to my initial rating within a few hours.

I really enjoyed the food too! I had beer, calamari, and the teriyaki chashu ramen. It was mostly excellent, but found that something was missing from the bowl I couldn't put my finger on. My friend felt the same way. I'm sorry I can't be a little more specific.

That said, I think it's absolutely worth trying again. It was a great experience, but I went in expecting the moon after seeing a nearly 5 star rating.

super attentive staff excellent speed excellent apps *no one is perfect, but they do a...

My wife and I visited and it was absolutely delicious! We shared a chashu pork bun and then I got the Oishii Goma Soba and we finished with red bean mochi ice cream. The pork bun and the soba ramen were both amazing. I was skeptical at first because the only pork belly (chashu) I've ever had before was flavorless and rubbery. But this stuff was incredible! Full of flavor without the unpleasant texture. I enjoyed both a great deal and the portions were very generous. The ramen was fantastic with a flavorful creamery broth and delicious toppings! Staff was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was pretty nice too. If you identify ramen with college or cheap instant nooodles definitely check out Oishii Ramen and Donburi. You'll see how flavorful and filling ramen can be.

Delicious doesnt begin to cover how good this ramen is. I have spent a month in tokoyo and this ramen is easily as good as anything I found in ramen row in tokoyo station or any of the little back alley joints I explored in my time there. I would say this is easily the best ramen I have found in metro thus far. The shoyu broth is spiced perfectly and the chashu was tender and cooked to perfection. The soy eggs were the best I have ever had and marinated for at least 3 days judging by my attempts at soy eggs. Overall the single minor complaint is that there is no kids sized portions other than that very very minor gripe I love this place and I look forward to coming back often.
