The Canvas Tattoo Studio — Local services in Prior Lake

Horrible experience at Canvas with Will and staff. Upon coming in for my consultation I had a very strange feeling. Receptionist was rude! I explained what I wanted and where I wanted it which seemed to go o.k. They happily accepted by down payment then Covid-19 hits and their business is forced to shut down. Knowing this may take months to return to business and in many cases some businesses didn't return I asked for a refund. They informed me they don't do refunds. I asked when they will be reaching out to reschedule and was told to contact the artist. keep in mind they never reached out to me during any of this to address their policies or how they would be handling. Canvas has now been open under phase 2 for a week. I reach out to them they inform me to contact their artist again. He informs me that he won't be returning to work due to the cover epidemic but gives me a time to stop by and gather my refund. Upon entering their building today during my scheduled time the artist appears and begins to yell at me(I lose it and invite him outside to speak). He asks me am I threatening him, I tell him no I am here for my refund. He continues with his yelling as if I should feel sorry for him. I don't, many of us have lost jobs and I need my money back to live. I don't give loans to businesses, If they won't do the work they owe me my refund back. Terrible experience here with Will! I do NOT reccomend going to this studio as it is very apparent it is just a money grab with zero concern for their customers. So, there were three of us planning to go to Vegas to celebrate my sister's birthday. But, our plan got canceled at the last moment. However, we still wanted to do something exciting that we had planned for the trip. So, we called up some tattoo studios in the city to check if they could take three walk-ins. Luckily, we found Canvas Tattoo and Joseph Andrews was able to tattoo all three of us. He's highly recommended!! He listened to our ideas and designs, and he was honest about expectations - you can tell he cares about the client and artwork. The birthday girl wanted an anime design, but Joe was honest about not being able to accomplish what she wanted that day. He wanted to customize the tattoo for her and get more familiar with the anime to draw up more concepts. She ended up making an appointment for the following week. He drew up my designs and tweaked them a few times, which was awesome. He really made us all feel comfortable and valued our opinions. By the end of our sessions, the birthday girl really wanted to leave with some ink, and Joe was happy to jump on board with her mushroom idea. He also wanted her to leave happy and not disappointed on top of missing Vegas. Honestly, we're all so grateful for the time and care Joe provided, and definitely coming back (this afternoon hah). All around very unprofessional. I booked my appointment for the soonest spot, five weeks out. The artist would not allow me to come in for a consultation to see her drawing of my tattoo as she was “too busy for consultation appointments” and then told me she would spend the 48 hours before my appointment to start working on my tattoo drawing. However I emailed her the night before my tattoo was scheduled asking about seeing my tattoo and she didn’t respond until the next morning saying she doesn’t work mondays and sundays, the two days before my appointment. Then told me if I had any changes I wanted to make to the drawing that she would do them on the spot during my appointment. Got there for my appointment, saw my tattoo drawing for the first time and it was absolutely nothing like what I wanted. Instead of changing it on the spot like promised the artist wanted me to book another appointment for another four weeks out and pay another deposit for her new drawing. She was also very rude and would argue with me about what I wanted in my tattoo that was going to be on my body for forever. Needless to say not going back.
