Man, this place was fantastic! We stopped on a whim while passing through Savanna, because we saw the owner pulling the smoked meats off the smoker as we were checking out the marina. We had Brisket and wings and both were spectacular. The brisket was probably the best I’ve ever had, and you could really taste the oak wood smoked into the meat. We talked with the owner, Silas, for a few minutes before and after lunch and he is a really nice guy. Inside the place is small but very clean and comfortable. They had a great variety of sauces to try, and the sides were great too. The inside staff was very busy because of a special they were running on wings, but all of them were very friendly and working as fast as they could to keep up. They have the best BBQ in Savanna, Illinois. The food is so good. They put a lot of time and effort into their cooking. The ribs & pulled pork are tender and flavorful. They actually grill their meats so it has a delicious smoked flavor. The Mac & cheese is cooked great! It is buttery, cheesy. The noodles are aldente. The baked beans are homemade with bacon in them. The corn bread is also amazing. The cornbread was warm, fluffy & soft. They put honey butter on the corn bread. The corn bread melts in your mouth. The customer service is excellent. They are very kind and welcoming. They also sell shaved ice with all sorts of flavors to choose from. I highly recommend...

Amazing operation going on here. Crossing the train tracks and going through the fence you almost feel like you’re going somewhere you’re not allowed…But once you step inside you feel right at home. Great service and conversation. Watched them chop wood for the smoker. You can see all the ingredients behind the counter. No bs in that kitchen. Food was amazing. The ribs were bone gnawing good. The whole damn thing burger was hot and juicy. The cornbread and butter was divine. The guys running that kitchen deserve the world. Sweet hearts serving fabulous food....
