I have been going to Bakers Pride for over fifteen years.. my mother use to order birthday cakes ever year from them for over 20 years, it was more of a tradition and a very satisfying one at that! My mom knew the owners Mrs.and Mr. Baker before they passed away they were very sweet and humble people that was all about great customer service no matter who you are and I know they would have never allowed this to happen in their bakery.
On July 30, 2020 at 12:52 pm I ordered a photo birthday cake from Initials TW at Bakers Pride..the cake was suppose to be ready 8/4/2020 at 9:20 in the morning, so i took a pic of the receipt and asked my Brother- in-law could he go pick it up.. well that is when things went left.. I received a call from my Brother saying that they cant find the cake and that is when i began to panic..I told him to show them your ticket its already paid for thinking that it was just a misunderstanding, well for some reason the staff wanted to make things very difficult and told him he needed a copy of the bottom of the ticket to receive the cake... and at this point i am beyond mad i am furious!! the cake was not made and I had to stop celebrating my birthday and turn around go all the way back home which was 30 mins from where i was located at the time just to take a pic and send them the bottom of the receipt..so they had to call a cake decorator in to make the birthday cake and i am not sure who made it.. but the cake was awful and just pretty much thrown together!!! it wasn't even the right size it was much smaller then what i paid for.. just a complete disaster!!! me and my sister birthday was pretty much ruined because of someone else mistake.. and instead of that person taking accountability for their actions they chose to make the situation worse! I was highly upset and extremely disappointed with the horrible experience I received!! I would have never thought in million years I would be writing this review.. because I never had any issue with Bakers pride...
Read moreI purchased my wedding cake at bakers pride, got my 1 year anniversary cake, and recently a king cake. I also stop in from time to time to get a donut or treat.
The wedding cake was amazing moist and delicious. I still think about it today! One of my layers was the traditional wedding cake one would get in New Orleans (the almond flavor). It was surprisingly similar to what you would find in Louisiana and extremely moist. The cake melted in my mouth.
I was so excited for our one year anniversary to eat that cake again. We used our voucher that every wedding cake cones with. (Awesome perk) I placed an order for the almond flavor because it was so incredible on our wedding day.
Well... this cake sucked. It didn’t have any almond flavoring and it just tasted like a bland cake you can get at any grocery store. I asked my husbands opinion and it was the same. Others that ate some agreed. I don’t know if they do something differently to wedding cakes or if they missed me asking for almond, but I was pretty disappointed.
The king cake was ok and very interesting. Not a traditional king cake. It was round and solid like an actual cake. It’s usually shaped like a round tube with a hole in the middle and not as tall. The cake part was kind of similar in texture to a king cake but had no flavoring. It tasted like bread. They also use a big king cake baby and place it on top instead of putting it in the cake. Maybe there’s a king cake baby in there yet to be found... The icing was really thick too but similar to icing you would taste on a traditional king cake... you also can’t get any traditional fillings like cream cheese.
Overall I do like bakers pride for what they are good at. Wedding cakes and donuts. I also like how it’s a traditional bakery and not a cupcake shop calling themselves a bakery. Every time I go in for something or place an order the staff are extremely friendly and nice. This is just some constructive criticism to help make a good business with great people a great...
Read morePositives: The cheesecake was good.
Negatives: I placed an order for the cheesecake early in the morning to pick it up the same day. When I arrived in the afternoon, the employee had no record of my order. Luckily, there was a cheesecake in the display, but still, this sort of thing should not happen.
Neutral: Alright, so when I was purchasing the cheesecake, I was astonished at how expensive it was. I paid $33.97 after tax for it, and to be honest, I was planning to write a scathing review about how I have no idea how people think this place is reasonably priced. After doing some research however, I came to realize that cheesecakes are bloody expensive, and that ~$34 might be only slightly above average. However, even with this knowledge, I think I'll stick with the $16 cheesecakes at Publix. Don't get me wrong, the cheesecake was good, but it wasn't good enough to justify the price for me. So in this case, I'll only deduct one star for screwing up my order (generous right?), and leave this last part for y'all to decide if...
