Visited this location as it was highly recommended by someone who used to live in Savanah. Wasn't busy, walked in to see 2 servers standing with their heads leaned down on a table 1st red flag. Our hostess, older lady greeted us and walked us to a section, and then she asked one of the young ladies if she passed their area, and she replied yes. Our hostess turned us around and led us to another secret when one of the ladies exclaimed out, "OH my God!" That was the second red flag. We were seated and ordered drinks. Came from Warner Robins to the GA coast, and my husband wanted fresh fish like ocean perch, red snapper, yellow tail, or at least whiting fish. His only options were tilapia and catfish 🤢. Our hostess engaged and asked questions to help try and satisfy our appetite. By this time, the ambiance was off, and we decided to leave and go back downtown. We did see a manager, her shirt was white and she stood out from the others who did ask in a friendly manner, "yall leaving us?" I replied we're going to go back downtown to hear someone else say in their conversation as we're walking out,"y'all came all the way down here for whiting?" Our hostess continued with us to the door and recommended several restaurants for fresh seafood with Sorry Charlie being one where the fresh oysters were amazing. My 1st mind told me to visit the Abercorn location as they had table side magic tricks that day. Hospitality and management is my thing, retired in 2020, and I look for great customer service, food, and hospitality everywhere and do reviews. My expectations and standards aren't high. Just do your job and love what you do. It makes a huge difference. So yeah, no, we didn't drive that far for whiting, but we didn't drive that far to eat from a Denny's menu either. You never know whom you'll encounter guys. Since retiring in 2020, I do reviews for Amazon where I order up to 8 items a day any size any price in return for my review. It's called Amazon Vine Voices, and it's exclusive, by invite only. You all be...
Read moreMe and a couple of my coworkers came in to pick up lunch on our lunch break. The female who took the order had already sounded rude and dry on the phone. When we arrived her attitude was very blan and you could just feel that she didn’t want to be there. Me having prior experience in the serving business I felt like she could have just been having a bad day so I still tipped. Me and my coworker come back in today and it’s the same female with the blonde braids and nose piercing working the to go orders. Her attitude is just awful and she brings down the entire atmosphere of the restaurant. I NEVER go somewhere and not tip but I just couldn’t find it in me to tip her today. She called an older man up to get his food opened the box to show him and closed it before he could even see what he had. When he asked a question about his food she shrugged her shoulders saying she didn’t know and opened the box back for him to view his food. Not only is her customer service terrible I ordered a salmon burger with only mayo & cheese. I should have checked my food before I left because there was no cheese no mayo but there were tomatoes on there which I am allergic to so I had to throw away my entire plate. I just moved to the GA area and heard this establishment was a great place to eat but I can not tolerate bad service so I personally wouldn’t recommend ordering food to go if u are looking for good service or the...
Read moreFood was okay, service was bad. Not only did the waitress not see whiling standing at the table and asking how is everything, we had an empty cup of tea. We had to ask for a refill as she walked away. Then before bringing out our order, she came to the table and said, I am sorry the meal you ordered only comes with one side. I explained that I knew that but I wanted the extra side too. Okay the waitress says. She comes back with our food and low and behold my order was just like the menu said and NO extra side that I ordered. When I ask about the extra side, oh I am sorry you want that too she says, YES I do. Later she walks by and say I will get your receipt, she walks to the table with the receipt and stands at the table I will take it up for you, and continues to WAIT till we give her the money to pay the bill - giving us NO time to review the charges. She brought back our change and leaves the table, mind that we did not get a receipt, after looking at the menu we figured it out. She did not want us to see that we where charged for the higher price item with side order which was 4.99 fir about 1/2 c brunswick stew and 2 pieces of toast w butter. WE DO NOT recommend this establishment for any dinning experience due to...
