EL SAZÓN BAR & GRILL — Restaurant in Savannah

This is where it's at for great Mexican food! As my other reviews hint to, we dine out a lot and we're partial to Mexican food. While we have favorites across 8 states, the best Mexican food within 30 miles of Pooler is found at Oh Mexico. It's hard to go wrong with a majority of their menu, it's a great value and the staff is friendly; Good drink specials to boot. Try the Carnitas Tacos on corn tortillas with onions and cilantro, they're incredible, best authentic carnitas around... Others to try are the Chile Colorado and the Steak Tampiqueña both are excellent. Pass on the Pork Fajitas (good but always over cooked); Their other fajita options are all very good though... If you're looking to wet your whistle and you like Mojitos, give a Caipirinha a go, Oh Mexico is the only establishment in the area that can actually make one. Enjoy!

Ordered on the phone, came inside and waited for my food long after the 15 minutes they said. I worked food industry for years so I understand waiting, not the issue. My food was behind the counter ready to go. The girl told me I had to wait for the other girl that took my order on the phone...okay, weird but whatever. She then preceded go take three other customers, including ones that came in after me, after leaving the counter more than once. Then after all this, her seeing me still sitting there patiently by the counter, calls out to the other girl whose been waiting tables like everything is normal, "Hey, someone up front!" The other girl comes over, grabs the food from behind the register that's been sitting there since I walked in a rang me up. I only took the food and paid for it out of respect for the cooks which I was, and the food wasn't bad. I will never order from or go there...

I have just tried this place for the third and final time… it is awful. I first tried it when they first opened and was disappointed with the food, but since it is so close to me, I have them a second chance just hoping that the items I had ordered were the issue. They were not. Sadly, everything I ordered the second time was equally as bad. Just today, due to the name change, I gave them a third chance, hoping that with the name change there would also be an improvement in quality. There is not. I had the Chori Pollo, and tamales. The entire meal is now in my trash can. Even the chips and salsa was bad, tasted like cheap jarred salsa. I can’t really even say what the problem is exactly other than the food just tasted cheap and bad. I hate to even be writing this review because I try to support local businesses and everyone that works there seemed very nice, but I just have...
