I chose this place for my birthday, on the 28th of July. Wasn't that busy when we arrived and, with 3 people plus one toddler, we were seated promptly. We were placed in the far corner at the front of the restaurant which wasn't terrible but.. a little claustrophobic.
We did all the required 'check in on FB, google+' and share your review stuff so we could get $2.00 off each item checked but we never did get that discount though I did get the free jello shot. It was nasty.
We ordered 6 fresh oysters to start. I've had fresh oysters many times in Seattle, the Carolinas and once here in Georgia and these were NOT fresh. Thankfully I'd ordered only 6 and thankfully didn't get sick from them.
We placed our order and because I had checked reviews I knew our food would come in a bag so we weren't at all surprised but what is surprising is the lack of room on the table with only three meals and a trash bucket. If we had removed our meals from our buckets, leaving them in the plastic or not, we would have had even less room so we chose to leave everything in the plastic, in the bucket, on top of the plates. Trying to crack shells on top of a bucket and inside a bag without knocking elbows or tipping drink glasses that were lost in the mess was a bit annoying and not something I'd willingly do again.
Our server was nice and started out attentive but I think she got caught in the mess of the large party that came in because we didn't see her often. Perhaps we were simply forgotten in claustrophobia corner? The atmosphere of the restaurant isn't 'pleasant or enjoyable' and not at all 'beachy'.
The snow crab was decent but I've definitely had better. Fresher. And cheaper. Same with the Dungeness. The lobster was... well, cracked open there was a lot of goo. Gray sludgy goo. The tail was rather small and I got a little out of the claws but didn't dare go anywhere near that mess up top. Disgusting.
All in all, even with the $20.00 off birthday coupon, it was an overpriced, mediocre, and disappointing meal. I head back to Utah in the next two weeks and this was supposed to be my 'seafood splurge' before being landlocked for another year. I wish I had simply ordered my food from the nearby seafood market, where they cook it for you, enjoyed the night at home for much cheaper and far better or did what I did last year and went to The Crab Shack on Tybee. Much better food and a wonderful atmosphere to boot. Wish we could get our money back!

Read moreI moved from South Carolina to Savannah, GA right down the street from this place 6 days ago. I’m originally from Charleston, SC and I boast all the time that we have the best seafood spots. However, every time I drove by this place I yearned for it. I finally went last night (7/26/23) on a Wednesday which is also karaoke night. Let me just say, they’re going to be sick of seeing me! The service was amazing. I was a little complex with ordering my food wanting to substitute this for that, and that for this. But the young lady was so patient. She was very enthusiastic and genuinely enjoyed her role. She recommended cocktails for us to try, explained the spice levels, and took our order without writing a thing down. I was impressed. The aesthetic is nice. The vibe was so pleasant. It wasn’t overcrowded. Service was fast. Food was piping hot upon arrival. Like, we had to wait just to eat to give it time to cool off. I got the crab bag with snow crab legs, shrimp, sausage, clams, mussels, potatoes, corn, and eggs. Everything was cooked perfectly. The potatoes wasn’t undercooked at all and nothing was overcooked. I also ordered a fried shrimp combo for my daughter. Everything was delicious! I got so much food for such a good price and the flavor was better than any seafood spot I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to a lot from here to Charleston, Atlanta, LA, Las Vegas, Houston, Arizona, etc. This place is the best! I ate so much my stomach ached because I was full but kept eating. It was so good, y’all. I still have half a bag left and only spent $50. The drink was good too, so shout out to the bartender. Also, the DJ for karaoke was lit. He led that crowd with great energy as if it was hundreds of us. It barely was 30 of us in there. I can’t wait to come back and try some of the other items on the menu. The flavor was so perfect. I just know it’ll be good. Them fried shrimp was fresh, crispy, and tasty too. I don’t even have pictures! Food was too damn good for me to stop and take pictures. It’s 10 am the next day, and I’m going to finish what’s left of my bag!...
